Larrybyrds Introduction

Hey guys! I'm from Norway (am I alone or are there other countrymen here?), 21 years old, and want to become a good songwriter. My natural limitations is that English is just my second language, so I want to learn English even better through posting lyrics and getting your feedback. Another problem is that I struggle with writing good melodies. But its something I am keen to work on and learn. The most important thing for me here is serious, and brutal criticism.

I've been playing guitar for 5 or 6 years, and writing lyrics for a couple of years, but in a small scale; A song per month or so. There's not many musicians in my age where I come from, so I've been playing alone most of the time, but are currently playing in a acoustic oriented country-pop band. My natural style is blues and old school rock like The Band, but I try to be versatile. I play a Gibson Standard Faded (modified to look like an old 'standard') and a Fender Mexican Deluxe Powerhouse through a local-brand-amplifier (all tube) called Snolls 12. Between the guitar and amp I have an Ibanez Tubescreamer (remake). Sometimes I add Boss Compression Sustainer, Boss Tremolo and/or Marshall Jackhammer. When I play acoustic I use Yamaha LLX6.
