Hey There, I'm New!

Hi all,

Oh damn, I posted my first message in another topic...

I'm Emily, I'm French and I work as an English/French translator in Northern France. I also used to be a French teacher in the UK a few years ago but I missed cheese too much and went back home (well, not true, just found a better job opportunity in France).

I can't really say I'm a musician. I've been playing the piano for more than 20 years, and yet I have *zero* skills when it comes to composing music! But I write a lot in French and English. As I said in my first post, the boundary between poems and song lyrics is not always well defined in my writing but I tend to put things in a way that makes sense to me. Besides, I've never really imagined that my poems could be turned into songs, which is probably why I don't necessariy care about the structure. However, a friend of mine who sings and writes music set one of my texts to music last year, and I have to admit that I got chills when I listened to the audio file. It was a bit awkward at first but also a very pleasant feeling!

Out of interest, did you know that the UK has more varieties of cheese than France? lol Sorry, I'm a cheese head and that just stuck in my head after I found out lol
