Recording software

Just wondered what software you all use to record...

I am using sonar 3 producer edition. Once you get it working great piece of software

I tested a demo and it was so damned complicated I completely lost faith and went BAK to Cakewalk....

Really, I found it easier to work with than cakewalk, oh well, to each, his(/her) own.

are any of these free? :

its jst i'm only 15 and have a low budget, but love recording things.

atm i use audacity or wavepad, and it's okay but more control would be nice i guess... does anyone know any decent free recording programs??? appreciate it!

Sorry I can't help. I use stand alone equipment for all my recordings, but I'm sure somebody here will pipe in. Without me knowing anything about recording software, I'll still bet nothing is free.

Buy a copy of 'Computer Music' they have free software on the cover disk.
