Please Allow Me To Introduce Myself.....

Good evening all. 36yr old Australian male here, been writing for 15 years and have over 150 completed lyrics, some of which I am extremely proud of, some not. As for styles and influences, well they are far too numerous to list here, but some prominent ones would include 1940s and 1950s swing, 1950s and 1960s rock and roll....1960s Motown/Stax soul, 1970s rock, 1980s Aussie Pub Rock (Cold Chisel etc), Country (big Johnny Cash fan), 1990s stuff like RHCP, Nirvana, 2000s stuff like System of a Down. Very wide range of era's and genres. 

Songwriting used to be my whole identity, then I suffered a writers block that has lasted the last 6 years and I am slowly getting back into it, Hoping that, if I find the confidence to get my stuff out there, it may inspire me to bigger and better things.

You might be interested in trying our lyrics challenge group. There are challenge almost every week aimed at stimulating the writers, developing them and we try to encompass other aspects of what it means to be a songwriter in the modern age, including collaboration, elements of competition etc just a thought.

Thanks, I had already found it Am planning on giving a few of them a try. I already have one that I am proud of that would suit #20. A Johnny Cash style outlaw ballad.

Hahahaha - noooooo I wish I was a man of wealth and taste but I am neither sadly (except in the context of my music collection!). I like your name tunesmith, I often refer to myself as a songsmoth or wordsmith!
