Songs Written In A Major Key That Are Sad (Lyrically)

Anyone know of some songs that are written in a major key that SOUND like they are in a major key and upbeat but are still sad/melancholic lyrically?

Hmm there are no doubt plenty, including one of two of my own. I think there are a couple on Supertramp's "crime of the century", lik "Rudi", I think also "Teardrop" by massive attack fits the bill, plus tracks by Groove Armada, Air, Morcheeba, even Black Sabbath. I will rack my brains to come up with a specific other than teardrop. Hmm, maybe also tracks by Radiohead and Portishead. Hmmm. I don't think I am misremembering the keys of these songs or that these artists have several each that would fit the bill. Bohemian Rhapsody by Queen, progressive but certainly a mix.

Actually no, bohemian rhapsody ballad sections use either Bb or Eb, I just ran through the melody instead of guessing lol

most country songs are written in major keys despite being about lost love, broken hearts, dogs running away or horses dieing. they generally use a minor chord to emphasise the sad bit.
