Hey there everyone! I am an aspiring songwriter from Austin Texas, the live music capitol of the world! My name is Matthew, and I'm 16. I've been trying to write songs for almost three years now, and I've shifted from a lot of electronically based stuff to more of my blues and rock roots, which comes more naturally to me. Here's a little about my musical background: I've been in school band for 5 years now, on the saxophone. I own a yamaha advantage student model alto, a Kessler custom Las Vegas in Charcoal black Tenor, and a Slemer Paris Serie II alto. I am currently entering my second year as section leader in the high school marching band, and next year I'll be taking jazz band and AP Music Theory alongside marching band. I have played with some great blues musicians such as Larry Wilson, a local austin musician who owns a music store called larryland, and the Peterson Brothers, who are two AMAZING blues musicians around my age, and I am proud to call them my closest friends. As of now, I am proficient in only saxophone, but I know basic piano and guitar enough to write with both and record with both. I have just begun to train my voice as well, because I believe it will train my aural skills as well as having the benefit of singing myself when I have inspiration. It's been nice to introduce myself, and I'm looking forward to becoming a part of the community!
