Breaking Up

when love comes to an end

don't hang on like your life depends

love is more than being friends

it's true  you know what  to do

 

when it comes to the goodbye

someone is going to cry

but no-one is going to die

it's true  you know what to do

 

if breaking up is hard to do

why do so many do it

the hardest  thing we go  through

but we  put ourselves right through it

 

just  try to smile and walk away

it would  only hurt to stay

love will come some other day

it's true  you know what to do

 

one day you'll look back and smile

knowing you loved for a while

another near miss on the profile

it's true   you know what to do

 

breaking up was hard to do

so hard for both of you

but when a love's not true

you do  what you have to do

Hi John

Nice write as usual and to the point- we have all gone through it- and it hurts like hell-but like life- we move on-going through it all over again until we find that special someone- it takes several heartbreaks to find the love of ones life!!...but when you do-you know it's true!.  so Thanks for your write- I am sure we can all relate at some point in our life. Mike -thanks the breaking up bit was meant for a lyric but could never get words to fit around it.

 

Lisa-the answer to your question , I have no idea ,  sometimes it must be for the best others we are to stubborn to back down  just my thoughts
