Introduction

Hello all, I am James, primarily  a drummer, I've been involved in lyrics and sChucks hard worongwiting for the past few decades.   As far as music goes, I was extremely lucky to be surrounded by top notch performers at an early age, have been born the son of a Gospel Tenor from the 60's and 70's.  I have an older brother who literally picked up a guitar one day and began to play it.   When I was 13 I met a local guy named Chuck Bartles.  Chuck introduced me to what a bass players role was really all about, and tons of other stuff about music I may have missed had I not been fortunate enough to meet him.  He is without a doubt the best educated, and disciplined musician I've ever met, on top of being the kindest soul, and my best friend of the last 35 yrs.  By the way, Chucks hard work, professional attitude, and sacrifices that true musicians must make have paid off huge.  You can catch him playing with Sturgill Simpson, my man has arrived.  I do sing fairly well, enough to convey a melody, a LITTLE guitar, and I dont know how many song lyrics.  Looking forward to feed back, networking, collaborating, or anything involved with this infectious art called music.  Thank you.

Glad you introduced yourself.  I find all of what you've said quite fascinating, since I've only recently been connected into the world of lyricists and musicians compared to you (and your friend).  Always nice to hear someone has kept their kindness and the core of who they are regardless of circumstances and to have someone like that as a 35-yr friend!  I'm sure I'll see you around the forum!
