Does Anyone else Find it Hard to Find a Clearable Track to Write to??

Are you referring to tracks that are royalty free so that you can use it to write a song over it?

If so, yes, you'll need to find  right sources. Google "Royalty Free Sound" and you'll find a bunch of results that would serve you. Some may require you to register a free account.

Better yet, you can collaborate with someone here ;)

Unfortunately a lot of these composers think that the world will just go along with their breaking of rules, but people’s income is at stake. It takes time and maturity, though some never learn and think the world should change to accommodate their interpretation of things. There are so many misconceptions passed around some of the forums that these guys hang out, it is no wonder that they run into problems now or later. Tbh more than a few also don’t care if they hurt others. For example we had one guy who did a collab with a member here. They were really nasty and in the end fell out with the lyricist. They the. Went ahead and released the collab work on their own, giving no credit to their co-writer. They posted the track across a bunch of boards.

When challenged at first they denied it, then became hostile. They claimed that they found the words for free, therefor they could use them under “fair use” as they were.

Of course they were wrong. The track was removed from many forums and the guy was banned. He ended up having his YouTube channel shut don’t for that and other violations. His reputation was trashed on Twitter too. Trouble was, he wouldn’t be told. He knew it all and his arrogance was his undoing.

Point is, it is worthwhile finding co-writers who know their stuff instead of just finding “free” tracks. In general those that produce them have no idea. Sure there are some who do, but it is a lottery with poor odds.

Cheers

John

Or you find co-writers to collaborate with. Ie you don’t buy the track but split the track ownership. You get exclusive beats at no upfront cost. You both own the song and split the profits. Think of it like a band with a lead singer. They create finished songs as a group.
