Hey guys! I'm new to the forum so I'm still learning how this all works!😆 Anyways, I'm doing this post to introduce myself... I'm João and I'm a member of an indie band from Portugal called Van Bloom. My background in music production is scarce since this is our first band and I'm only 18 years old however the love I feel for music keeps me interested and motivated to connect with other people with the same interests and hopefully CREATE new sounds and provoke strong emotions.  In the past I've been involved in other projects that allowed me to learn a lot but they were short-lived.

What plans do you have for your band?

Welcome to Songstuff, Joao!  Do you write any of the music or lyrics for Van Bloom? What instrument do you play, or  maybe you sing?   Checked out the song Puppet.  Nice one.

Hi Peggy! The lead vocalist is responsible for writing the lyrics however, for the rest of the instrumental, I would say that it really depends...sometimes a member comes up with a nice melody or bassline and we start from there...other times we might sit next to a piano or guitar and start to come up with some chord progressions to sing to. Currently I am playing the keys/synths even though I'm not the greatest pianist but on the other hand I'm responsible for a big part of the composition and all of the production of the tracks 😆. Hey John! We'll be independently producing our first ep over the next few months and meanwhile we hope to reach out to as many fellow musicians and music lovers as possible! There is also a huge desire to play live and do some gigs next summer!
