Rain Is Falling

Last week we have 12" of rain fall on us in 24 hours in the Pacific Northwest. I wrote this while sitting in my house, watching the rising waters...

RAIN IS FALLING

rain is falling

falling on the mountaintops

falling on the rooftops

beating on my window

running to the lowest places

filling up the empty spaces

carrying my thoughts

out to the sea

taking me to anyplace

my mind may chance to wander

tearing me from everything

my mind may chance to hold

letting go of all i see

feeling lost and feeling free

whatever will become of me

whatever will become of me
