  1. Seeking 'Rock God' Collaboration

That would be awesome!!! Yeah cool!! I nearly asked you on the other thread but didn't want to put you on the spot!! Lol And I've listened to some of your stuff which I think is great - so let's do it!! From what I've read I think you have Reaper too, so that should help... I think... lol Let's Rock!! πŸŽ™
  2. Hi Having had some not bad feedback in the lounge (see link) I'm looking for someone who may be able to take these songs to the next level due to me being musically challenged πŸ˜”although I am working on retro feel rock synth versions at the moment. Let me know if you want to be part of something that may be really cool! πŸ˜€
  3. A new concept for a country boy...

Yeah, that's why I switched to a DAW I could .vst to death with πŸ˜‰
  4. A new concept for a country boy...

That's about the best compliment I could ever get!! πŸ’ͺπŸŽ‰
  5. A new concept for a country boy...

I'd like to take the credit but they are just loops (for the guitars) and then I used a stock drummer to get the sounds I wanted. Messed about a little with the mixing and effects and presto. It is my voice unfortunately - they don't have an app for that lol I like it cos I really am crap at any kind of instrument (well, I'm ok on harmonica lol) so it brings my stuff to life in a way that's ok. What I'd really like is someone real to take them and make em real, if you get what I mean. I'm not sure you have loops on the mac but they are included on the iPad - although it's mainly aimed at dub, EDM and all that mix stuff... All that said, I've now invested in a midi keyboard and am starting to make some music from scratch in Reaper with Synth1 and a drum machine... watch this space for You're the Girl v2... πŸ˜€
  6. A new concept for a country boy...

Hahaha How do I reply to all this!! Lol Do you really like em? Seriously? That's coooool! I'm really pleased!!! My main GOTO music has been country for a few years now - mainly cos I can't stand some of the new crap! Lol that said my musical tastes are varied and I guess I'm influenced by them when I come up with the 'rock' feel - as most of my collection in that genre is 70's and 80's (Petty, Blue Oyster, Aerosmith, Bon Jovi, the Cure, the damned, etc etc) and then more recently the Darkness, Jet, Nickleback and the likes - so I guess that's where it comes from. I even have the Beach Boys! Lol The repeating will be down to the loops and samples I'm using when I did all these in GarageBand on the iPad - it's pretty limited on what I can do which is why I moved to Reaper. I can only play basic guitar and I really want to be able to make MUSIC lol or at least songs people like and then others can take em and make em real, if you know what I mean... I've already remixed You're The Girl in Reaper and it sounds a bit better but I'm still learning and can spend time sorting them out now πŸ™‚ Anyway, thanks for the reply. I'm really gonna try and add some of your suggestions to the remixes in Reaper. Your input TRULY made me smile! I'm glad I'm doing something that someone other than me likes!!! πŸ‘ Having just looked at your influences, it actually reflects much of my collection (including the old vinyl!!) lol
  7. You Don't Have ToΒ

Looking good but maybe 'Eyes full of retrospect' ?
  8. Soundcloud Cuts 40% of workforce

Not good indeed πŸ™ I imagine their servers are running at maximum at the moment...
  9. Hi all, I decided to move from my trusted country genre to a more rock/80s feel. These were all done in GarageBand (ipad) so limited with what I could do: I've now moved to Reaper on the pc which I'm really enjoying experimenting with and can move more towards an 80's synth sound I'm looking for (OMD/Joy Division esq). I've dropped this in the lounge not for feedback per se but more of a 'does anyone (but me) like it?' πŸ™ Also, to find out who else here uses Reaper and any good tips you may have for me based on the above. If I've posted this in the wrong place I'm really sorry!!πŸ˜”
  10. Just outa curiosity?

Sounds like a plan! You'll enjoy GarageBand!
  11. Just outa curiosity?

Defo it is cut down, but really easy to use πŸ‘
  12. Just outa curiosity?

I should've said I use GB on iPad so it may not be s fair comment/comparison....
  13. Just outa curiosity?

Agree 100% πŸ™‚ - although it can adjust pitch... (ReaPitch).... I think....
  14. Just outa curiosity?

@Jenn - ha ha yeah, 'suggested' - I think I will defo get a licence though cos it seems to p all over GarageBand, although it is of a bit steep learning curve. All kinds of add-ons (vst') can be added (including instruments) - there are LOADS free. I'm sure the guys here can give you all loads more info but if it can make me sound like Frank Sinatra (alright, maybe not) it can't be that bad... lol @Just1L - see above, mate, seriously, it's awesome. Although it may take me 20 years to work it all out but you can do SO much! Even just straight recording has 'takes' so if you mess up just a word you can go back into the track, re-record (over and over if needed) until you get the right feel and then boom! Done. It just doesn't compare, GarageBand is a bit like a kids toy next to it. Although I do do stuff in GB now and then move it to reaper to take it further. We may be moving off topic! Search the forum for Reaper - that's how I went to it. @Pahchisme Plaid - I'll post something up soon what I've done in Reaper so you get an idea what it can do.
  15. Just outa curiosity?

I've just started using Reaper, you get a 60 day trial and then it's Β£60ish for a licence. I was using GarageBand but this is a whole new level - and I think it's really good. @Pahchisme Plaid - you will need to upgrade but this might be a good option πŸ‘
