  1. You're joking! Can you provide photographic proof? I challenge you to a stretch-a-thon. Index finger of the 1st fret and see how far up the neck you can place the pinky!
  2. How many frets can you span? Its mostly chords that will test your limit. The scale of the instrument will vary and of course you have a better chance at the upper register. I once bought a tutorial book that was useless to me. Micky Baker's Hot Guitar. All the chord shapes were designed to show off how far Baker could stretch his fingers. I could hardly play a single one.
  3. The Dream by Ry Cooder. From the album 'JAZZ' Not technically overdemanding. All the notes in this are exquisitely crafted and timed. It sounds just like its title. http://www.amazon.co.uk/Jazz-Ry-Cooder/dp/...843&sr=1-16
  4. Excellent. Nice playing too. Once upon a time, I used to use my feet to the turn lights on & off.

  6. Flash Gordon's Ape - Captain Beefheart & the Magic Band
  7. I was on another forum, and John Lennon’s ‘Imagine’ was criticised for poor grammar for the line ‘and no religion too’. It was suggested that it be altered to 'No religion either'. A change like that could wreck the song!
  8. Total Glycerol Esther - Principle Edwards Magic Theatre.
  9. I must say I am impressed with your dedication. I have hard right hand fingertips too, but it doesnt take long for them to soften up. So if I play a gig straight after a holiday, the fingers get sore. Hope this work is useful for compositional musical ideas.
  10. Good luck. It cant do you anything but good, I would think.
  11. Hi Deadskinny, Welcome from Portrsmouth UK. We are equal opportunities interogators.

  13. John Night wolf ! Mad - Robert Hunter Searched many lyric sights but cant find them anywhere. This is a little from memory: Well I got born on Sunday, started work next day I had to wait ‘til Friday to get my first weeks pay I spent it all on Saturday, got drunk as I could be ……..?? ?? ?? ??…… and that made me mad it made me mad it made me so damned mad it made me crazy I was feeling restless, I went to see Marie I found her on the back stoop with my good friend McGee Now McGee said “don’t get riled son, its plain for all to see” “She’s done had 20 others and it might as well be me..” and that made me mad it made me mad it made me so damned mad it made me crazy

  15. Is there a left handed version? It looks like it can fingerpick itself with those nails. Why are the G & D strings tuned at the bridge end?

  18. Yep Ive now watched these (at home) now. No, Ive never tried to play anything like this. But it appeals more than the electric stuff I have to say. Its sweet stuff. In some ways it reminds me of slide playing. That makes its biggest impression the first time you hear it. Perhaps the same is true of this. It is after all played in open tunings, like slide. I havnt stopped being challenged by regular styles of playing yet. Maybe i'll look into this further in about another 60 years time.
  19. Certainly. How many people get training anyway? There is a cultural change also though. When I was at school no-one used to do this. Now every kid does it, so there is a generational difference.
