  1. Hi! There's a lot of cool album cover arts out there. Which one would you send to the cover arts "hall of fame"? My vote goes to "No rest for the wicked", Ozzy Osbourn. I must confess...I had plenty of others on my mind //MMR
  2. Hobosage; maybe you could share some of that focus? Justin; I just write what comes to my mind but when I look thrue my lyricslist the following appears (among lot of others) Shadow of your soul Aincant power Crucified by time Looking for life Betrayal (just wrote that ) In the king you must believe Pain I guess my future album will be quite dark and that's what keeps it together. Not a special story I think...Wait and we shall see....lol //MMR
  3. Hmm, so we do it the same way then. But don't you guys think it's frustrating that it takes SO long time until one song is done? I mean, if I aim to complete a full album...I will grow very old before it hits the market I am unfortunately not equipped with any higher amount of patience so frustrated is my middle-name since starting with music //MMR
  4. Hi! I currently work on three songs and besides that I write at least 2 lyrics a week, not because it’s a goal of mine, it just happens J This naturally means that it will take a long time for any of my songs to be completed. I try to focus mainly on one song, but then all of a sudden I get a great idea for one of the others. It might be a thought, intro or whatever that is intended for a particular song that suddenly feels better in another. So, I shift focus. Again. In my world it contains both elements. Destructive because the song you currently work on might take a trip back to the drawer. Supportive because of those great ideas that can take form can develop another song. What’s your opinion? How does it work for you? Do you find working on multiple songs in a period is supportive or destructive to the creativity? //MMR
  5. Hi Symphonious7! Maybe I am stupid for real, but to me it means "professional" //MMR
  6. Hi Donna! Makes me quite irritated to read about the situation you're in. But at the other hand, you can't be surprised anyone tries, your lyrics are awsome Without having much experience, I must say this can't be right. Many of us uploads our lyrics on sites like this one (SS of course ). You gotta be able to start a legal process. No matter where you posted your lyrics they are not "just to pic" by whoever. I'm looking forward to read thoughts of others that know more! //MMR
  7. You bet I am! If my love for this is infectious I'm glad! We can't get enough music, can we? /MMR
  8. Depends on how you see it. I personally don't own any at all but somehow there is 4 upstairs... One bass, one acoustic and 2 electric. Got no idea how to play them but hey - the sure look nice //MMR
  9. ...and to the rest of you. Thanks and I hope this feeling will stay forever. It's like being in love, great! I remember the first time someone else sang my lyrics, it was a knockout! But I have to admit; it's more fun doing it myself;) //MMR
  10. Hi! I will enjoy it, believe me I listed to Simons song and it is really good, tnx for the tip! //MMR
  11. Just got to share my happiness with you guys! I am a complete rookie that threw all my fears aside and started to sing infront of others for the first time in my life in december-13. I´ve been writing my own lyrics for some time now but never had the guts to do anything of them myself, so until now I shared them with another rockband. Not anymore Got lucky enough to find a guy that is starting up a musicproducion so now my first song is under production! It is so cool to hear my own song emerge from my text, the fact that I sing it myself makes me amazed. Who would have thougt?? But it is not without effort, of course. I see a vocal coach regularly and try to improve myself every day. A hard but delightful job;) I never though making music could give so much! Now it's all I want to do! Makes me wonder; is it just a beginners reaction or are you feeling the same everytime you managed to produce a song that you truly like? //MMR
  12. Haha, it does feel quite stupid when you actually wrote the text yourself! But when it happens I just go "llalalalahmhm" in the rigth melody and hope the beer made people a little dizzy so they don´t notice it //MMR
  13. Obviously you improved a LOT! The "after" is so much nicer to listen to. I really hope you can hear this yourself... //MMR
  14. Hi James and (I believe it´s David?)! Thank you so much for taking the time to listen to my little piece of cover. I really appriciate the feedback I got from you, especially when I read it on a day that didn´t have much good things to offer... I listened to "Die Happy", I liked them but I am not near the singer she is. But maybe some day, you never know And to David, yes, you are absolutely right. I hold back a lot, by the time that cover was recorded, I had never had the guts to sing to anyone (accept once (!) from a vocal coach I just met. So I got a lot of training to do with my voice, and I started, it´s supercool! I still dont know how to control my voice properly, guess that will take a while...) but I did learn how much power I can use, and that was a Finding! Wow, never could have dreamt that my voice could do and sound like that! So, time for me to repeat myself: Tank you SO much!! //MMR
  15. Hi! Well, Youtube is filled with a lot, some crappy and some good stuff. I myself is thinking about joining for example Ken Tamplins vocal academy. I know a few people who has used it and they are quite satisfied with it. By goint that way you can always have it with you and practice wherever and whenever you want. //MMR
  16. Hi! I really appriciate the time you took to listen to the cover. First I will like to say that the very first time I ever sang to anyone was in the end of december when taking my first vocal lesson. I was scared to death, but obviously I survived... Just didn´t have the guts before, hated my voice and felt I was a useless singer. But life is changing (older and wiser??) and I decided to give it a try. As I stated before, I will not lie on my deathbed regretting all the stuffs I didn´t do because of my own fears. And Mike, thanks a lot for your constructive critisism! I know the song contains a few mistakes, like the "no-thing" for example. I started to build up some feeling when recording and didn´t look so much on the text so I was going to sing "no pain" instead but when my eyes landed on the paper... I realized my mistake but carried on anyway. I totally agree with you on the other parts aswell, I have a lot of training to put my voice into. Once again, I am impressed over the time people is willing to put into helping out others. You´re the best! //MMR
  17. Thanks for your feedback, Donna! And another thanks for fixing the link
  18. Hi! My own songs still don't have music attached to them so I decided to record a cover. As you can read in my blog this is the very first time I ever recorded something and my voice will need a lot of training. But hey, got to start somewhere! Visit mazingmaryrocks.blogspot.com to find the link to soundcloud.
