  1. Hello Melissa, I liked the texture of your voice. Very smooth. You have a bit of control in your voice as I can hear some subtle vibrato at the end of notes. Some people get it naturally,so I guess you've got that in your advantage. You do need to work on your pitch though. But before you give any work to your voice to solve that, you need to give your ears the work. You need to be able to IDENTIFY when you are not in pitch, only then would you be able to fix it. So I would advice you to listen to as much music as possible(maybe songs like this?mellow and nice, not those pop tunes saturated with computerized beats). Listen to it completely, observe the shift in pitch and melody, take it all in.Make it a habit. Now coming back to fixing the pitch issues,I would recommend vocalizing on a scale like do re mi fa so la ti do. Sing it note by note slowly one by one so that you can sustain each note well. This will help you with your breath control. When you sustain a note,be sure to stay at that pitch and not waver even a lil(try to). When ever you see that you are not in pitch, start over. Be sure to tell us about your progress Cheers, Mahesh
  2. I'll say Frank Sinatra. Everytime I listen to the depth of his voice,it just feels good! Another nice voice is a female jazz singer called Gretchen Parlato, check this song out- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vBTfvkvy4tM
  3. There is a disturbing amount of electronic beats in the number of songs nowadays. I was cruising through the current american charts in a few of my tv channels and all I found was a lot of hiphoppish/electronic sounds. I seriously have nothing to say about those genres and I respect its existence but not one song on the charts were rock or blues.

  9. Bingo! You can make music as freely as you want. But when you want to make money out of it,you apply proper marketing techniques, points that will surely help you leverage your music sales better(which I am in the process of learning). Again, its not EXACTLY related to your music but yet you are making some money by using something that you love to do! Personally,I love learning anything that is vaguely related to music. I just dont mind at all
  10. Thanks fro all the suggestions I'll be doing each one of them when I get to it John! I'll be adding the Songstuff icon on the top left/right of the album cover/cd sleeve and will also be mentioning it in the credits
  11. Yeah,I will be doing that in the credits! Hmmm, sounds like an idea to me!
  12. How useful is it for me to get ISR codes for my songs? Considering that Im still a tiny speck in the international music scene and am just starting out,is it worth it? Also if my song is being played in the UK,does that mean I have to get an ISR code allocated from a UK agency? or is it local to where I live?
  13. Hello everyone, this question is directed at John but I sure would love to get your opinion too The thing is,I finally went to a studio and got a few of my songs recorded (all acoustic but hey, they're standard quality compared to my crappy videos) and am putting it together and releasing it as an EP. I've been here for a long time now and Songstuff has helped me so so much in improving myself as a musician, So,since I'll be promoting my EP all around to be heard,I'd love to have Songstuff promoted as well while Im doing it by somehow affiliating Songstuff to the EP. Maybe as a thank you or maybe as to let people know how useful the site can be,I dunno. Anyways, the question is,how can I do this? Putting Songstuff in the credits wont do much IMO. Im TOO new to this,so I have no idea what else can be done.
  14. Welcome to the Black Parade - My Chemical Romance
