  1. Found this on another site. :) Brings a warm glow to the gills doesn't it?

"Swedish comedian Jesper Odelberg has a severe CP handicap, but that hasn't prevented him to start his own boyband. Check out their video here (interview in Norwegian first, but then the song, in english):"

  2. I put my thumb where it's comfortable. Sometimes that means wrapping it right around to either fret on the low E string or more often to 'Damp' the Low E. When I used to practice for speed, I would place my thumb at the back of the neck. I know that having the thumb placed central behind the neck is supposed to aid with fretting because your hand naturaly curls around the neck more and the fingers come down on the fret board more verticaly. If you watch any classical guitarists, they play with the thumb in this position.

  3. Have a look at this!

It's a build your own guitar kit! (They also do a bass version!) I think it's a great idea! And! It's very cheap, at under 52 quid! (77euros) You get everything to do the job with no soldering involved. If nothing else, it would give you a better understanding of how the guitar works!

I'm planning on selling my full copyright (to music I solely have written and own) and am mixed up with regards to the 'moral rights' issue. From what I understand moral rights are actually alienable (can be sold/waived), however this seems to vary depending on the country you may be selling from. My question is ...can I draw up a simple contract assigning what moral rights I choose to keep (in my case authorship and a degree of coherence to lyric/form) and have this contract valid in any country I may have the copyright for sale in? The party buying the copyright may or may not have a specific contract of their own, so I am hoping to draft something for my own benefit and have it applicable in various situations.

My performing rights organization (SOCAN) does not provide a standard 'assignment of copyright' form and the ones I have viewed from other organizations are hardly specific. I understand music publishers will incorporate a clause for 'moral rights' in a standard contract ...could I perhaps draft my contract loosely based on something like this?

If you draft your own contract, you can have anything you like in it. Whether the other party will agree to your terms/demands is another matter all together!

Have a look at these articles by Lazz.

    Welcome to songstuff. :)

  5. I used to play with a drummer who taped the inside of each skin with a wad a tissue paper using duct tape. This was placed to the side, near the rim of each drum head. And a loosely thrown blanket inside the bass drum. Sometimes hanging halfway outside depending on the venue. The wads of tissue were constantly being moved for differing venues!

  6. The first time I tried this, the video didn't play So I just listened. It was OK. So I tried again and this time I got the visual as well. Thats when it became extraordinary! SO. Is it an Aural accomplishment? Or a visual feast? Or perhaps you can't have one without the other? As a traditional guitarist, I find these examples of playing dexterity quite awe inpiring! as a listener, I find nothing too spectacular to listen to! It sounds like one man trying to play three (maybe four) parts with the inevitable consequence that the mix is dreadfull. Some of the main melody is buried away and the rhythm gets left out and lost here and there! Having said that! I wish I could play like that. Just as a party piece! :)
