Moonlight Ride

Tammy Jo Lemon and David Johnson died April 16, 2008 when a van pulled out in front of their motorcycle. Both died at the scene of the accident. Please be carefull, whether you ride or not.

 

Moonlight Ride

 

Motor warms to the touch

Tires slip in sandy mush

Then grab sure, affirm their hold

The road ahead is dark and cold

Flying true to rush the wind

Clutching palm and throttle pinned

Blistering turns and weightless twisting

Moonlit stripes and pavement lifting

Forage speed the end is near

Tear the needles from the air

Rip the lifting wind from fear

Sets her sail, and disappears

Stillness tumbles to her chest

His body crumbles in the nest

Their eyes meet the setting tide

Dear goodnight and moonlight ride
