restless taxis and ambitions for the near future

I'm glad that i managed to find a forum like this where I can speak with others who are passionate about music although i have no idea if a post like this is appropriate here.

I'm from London and i have a project, a band, called restless taxis that i started with a few friends in school.

our influences include

sonic youth, dinosaur jr, swirlies

mbv, stereolab, duster, smashing pumpkins

deep wound, fugazi and minor threat

right now there is 3 of us and we're completely independent. i record and produce our music and as we have matured as musicians, my will to share our work with as many people as possible has grown exponentially. right now, we're completely unheard of, but i don't want it to be like that. 

 

originally, i had no idea how to get shows at all so the idea for putting on our own all ages free entry DIY house shows made perfect sense to me because as long as we could get people there, it would be worth it. We pulled one off back in february and it was a lot of fun but we haven't had the chance to do another because ive been busy with schoolwork. in summer we definitely intend to play lots of other shows. The reason i'm sharing this on this forum is because i want anyone and everyone who is vaguely interested in this to be a part of it so we can have new people coming to them and i can make new friends who love music/ in general the idea of things like this, being a part of something. i really want to do something special with this band and i think i can.

even if you don't live in london you could listen and share our music if you enjoy it, and if you do (live in london), you could come to our DIY shows and support the independent music scene.

 

I'm also looking for advice so if anyone with experience with this stuff has ideas for growing this project, i would like to hear them.
