Hello From Kangaroo Point, Australia

Yeah I know, funny name for a place to live... and not a Kangaroo in sight :-)

Been playing guitar for a long long time and many moons ago I used to perform at pubs and clubs on weekends and holidays..... these days I'm content to play for my own enjoyment.

Just recently I bought myself a Boss BR-600 digital recorder and since then I have been busy trying my hand at songwriting and recording... hmmm definitely not as easy as it looks is it?

So far I have one song completed and I'll post details on the review forum

This looks like a great place for singer/songwriters and I look forward to interacting with you all

Cheers from Oz,

Crawf

:) Welcome to Songstuff crawf. It's a great place! What kind of stuff you into?

Gidday Steve,

Thanks for the welcome... I'm into quite a wide variety of music... from Neil Young, James Taylor and The Eagles to Sick Puppies and Hoobastank .. it seems the longer I'm on this planet, the more I expand my musical tastes... I think my songwriting style is somewhere towards the James Taylor side of that spectrum though.....

I'm excited at the way technology has enabled the average person to experiment with their creativity in a way that the record producers and artists of the 60s and 70s could never have imagined..

Of course technology is one thing and creativity and talent are another - but if technology is an enabler for those who may never have had the courage or inclination (or money) to venture into a studio, then it is a great thing for the individual and the industry as a whole.

Cheers,

Crawf

Hi Crawf,

Welcome. I'm knew here, but nobody seems to mind. You'll fit in just fine. Coming from a town with a funny namd is a great help in breaking the ice.

I'm from Kirkland, which is a suburb of Seattle, USA. It's the home of Costco, which is a great store that is coming to your continent next year. That's an ice-breaker for me, because their 'store brand' is 'Kirkland'. I can talk to someone a thousand miles away, and when they find out I live in Kirkland, they say, "Home of Costco?"

My sister lives in Australia - do you happen to know her.......just kidding.

Look forward to hearing your tunes :D
