I was swaying over professional or semi professional as how I envisage my future. In the end I opted for semi-pro since I can't imagine myself every relying solely on the music inudstry to pay my rent ever again.

Not unless there is a radical and substantial improvement in how the industry operates.

Exactly my thought process here. I'd play music a heck of a lot more if I could, but I'm a science teacher first and foremost. I love my "real job!" That said, I think it would be wonderful to be able to somehow break into writing for film or television.

Above all else, I would like to be a respected figure in the local music community when I'm 50. We have a strong folk scene here, and my music skirts the borders of that with the rock scene, so I'm trying to find my respective niche. The figureheads of the folk scene are revered in their niches - I really look up to those players.

I just posted a video covering Radiohead ( http://youtu.be/FqRDXPHvmhU ) but as far as music production I'm amazed how far I've gotten with the Garage Band app on my phone...have a couple of this on there too. I'd love to do more, just now starting even though I've been singing for years an years. Good luck to the rest of you!!

Great poll, and very revealing.I sat at about the middle of all responses, so I guess that makes me one of you! But all these songs sitting on shelves, when we hear so much drivel on the radio. No justice.

This is our first serious attempt at recording an instrunmental piece with the band. It's a fusion of stoner metal and funk. It also has me playing blues harmonica, however it's a bit choppy since it was probably the 7th time we went into the studio together.. enjoy!
