  1. This is a great idea--I'll be liking a bunch of your pages as well. Here is mine--it's a page about a website featuring isolated tracks from artists in all genres, searchable by decade, genre, instrument, etc. Thanks all and good luck with your projects... http://www.facebook.com/multitrackmaster

    Recording Voice

I'd suggest adjusting what all instruments you feed to your headphone mix. You may find you sing differently depending on what you hear. You don't necessarily need everything in there. You obviously must have already tried adjusting the level up or down as well of course. Good luck...
  3. You sound very good... Nice pace and somewhat original phrasing shows you are developing your own way of expressing your creativity even with well-known material like Adele. Carry on down the originality path with your own material and best of luck!

    Guitar Picks

An English penny--because I want to sound as much like Brian May as possible!
  5. Agree with this approach even if you can make noise at home. It's alot easier to get the acoustics right in your "control room" to create a mix from a pair of stereo monitors than it is to get the acoustics correct to capture, say, live drums without all sorts of frequency cancellation and so forth...
  6. Thanks much--appreciate that and I will look into what you have there. I'll probably PM you about that through your site. The guitar idea is another good one that I think is fascinating. In my work as an engineer I was always amazed at how different guitar amp/combos sound, forgetting even about all pedals and other signal processing. Even little things like Brian May of Queen playing with an English penny that changes his tone--great stuff.
  7. There are always cycles in rock. Remember the massive transition from hair metal (Warrant, Winger) to grunge (Nirvana, STP) for example? We're in a bit of a down cycle now it's true but Foo Fighters, Black Keys, The Killers and others have been keeping it alive...
  8. OP--this is a great idea and you have some great info on there. As a keyboard player I've always wanted more info on patches and sounds used on my favorite recordings and this info is hard to find. I have started an isolated keyboard track section on my multitrack masters site for exactly this reason. I'm still looking for more tracks to include. Maybe we can trade some info...
