  1. I don't know enough about what I'm doing to be of much use. Audio was Studio One and Wavelab. Video was Premiere. Just feeling out what is possible.
  2. I bought a subscription to Bring Your Own Laptop and have been taking the Adobe Premier course. Video tool was Premier. Audio was Reaper and Wavelab. I don't remember the footage site, it was a free gateway into iStock, with a handful of free vids (with attribution) to download. I'll probably subscribe to the Adobe stock site at some point. Just wanted to try my hand using free resources first. Not sure what you mean by credits in the middle. I just used a dissolve transition into black and coupled it with the credits. It's still at the end. As far as story goes, I just tried to pick footage that suited the mood of the music. Was trying to go for a kind of Koyaanisqatsi-type vibe, I guess.
  3. Hey, my first video!! Super basic, but, hey, I'm just getting my feet wet.
  4. I may be facetious, but I create primarily to explore what is possible with sound.
  5. I'm not going to post anything this week, but I listened to everyone's tracks & enjoyed these early glimpses of your processes. I have Friday off so will wait till then.
  6. Today's Report from the Abyss https://pentachrist.com/?p=73
  7. I'm starting to look seriously into music NFTs as a viable alternative to the mainstream music industry. https://www.coindesk.com/learn/what-are-music-nfts/ Thoughts?
  8. I just got home from the last day of a hellish week. Will listen, comment, & post tomorrow.
  9. Got the business checking account squared away today. Spent a little time working on a business card idea. First pass...
  10. @john I'll be happy to discuss my deleted comment privately. I was feeling uncomfortable about the level of detail when that's not really the point of NMF. I didn't and don't want to discourage participation for anyone on the fence about joining in.
  11. Once I've finished part one, I'd like to do a video. Kind of an in-process thing that doubles as a teaser.
  12. I think the strings need more work. I've been trying to work on the viola. It needs more filtering, but I haven't dialed it in yet. This first drum segment needs some chains, but I haven't found the right sound yet. It still needs the lead, vocalization segments, and a few more sound design treatments. Trying to do a doom vibe thing, you know?
  13. Double f*ck me. I literally just resaved the exact same post without changing anything and now the player is showing a time. Does it work for you now?
  14. I need deep critical attentive feedback for works-in-progress. I need a few serious artists to download a hi-res audio file (periodically) and engage with me on intentions, progress, hopes, dreams, & failures. I have, right now, three people I trust for various specific reasons. I would like to expand that circle. In return, I will do everything in my power to aid you on your own journey.
  15. What's f*cking weird is that the post shows the audio, displays the time and file size, but won't play the audio. The live page does not display time in the built in player. f*ck it, I'm going to update the piece for tonight's session on my Reelcrafter reel and post for NMF. I was really hoping Wordpress would be a great method of direct hi-res audio. Reelcrafter is good, it's 48khz 24-bit, but streams at the equivalent of Apple's streaming audio (good, but consumer grade). I'll keep looking at this and delete the post later. Thanks for the awareness, my friend!

  17. I can provide some context for this, but we can do it offline. I am completely cool with this decision.
  18. Pentachrist Productions, LLC was approved by the federal and state agencies today. Look out world! https://pentachrist.com/?p=57
  19. I finally posted an update to Sevish's piece. I didn't accomplish anywhere near what I wanted to, but I'm pleased that it's finally starting to take form. There are two problem areas yet, which I hope to address soon before I can start adding things.
  20. @geographyhorse Sorry, I suddenly realized I had not come back to comment. No, not the trash bin. I think the music is great. The backing vocals are texturally interesting. The main vocals are strong, but I can't put my finger on why they are not working for me. It's almost like they exist in a different pitch space. What if, as an experiment, you raised most of them (except the tonic, of course) a half step. Also, maybe play around with making them more vulnerable, less strident. I am in awe of your eclecticism, your ability to try anything.
