  1. Welcome to the forums pubbys :)

  2. I often forget people don't know this stuff! It reminds me there is a ton of articles I still need to add to Songstuff.... although I am surprised the author alleges Universal has a weed guy, no matter how certain he is or we are. I sense a lawsuit coming on lol. It's like when I watch x factor or american idol and I know the details of how they are manipulating people, or when I talk to people who are unaware of the use of autotune by the majority of artists, in the studio and live... or who think the singers on Glee really do sound like that lol Thanks for sharing with your fellow Songstuffers.

    Song Form

Nicely done Gary. Have you taken a look at the song form articles on Songstuff? There are quite a few in quite a lot of detail with examples. You make an excellent point that they are frameworks to help you write, but they are also useful when it comes to discussing sectional music, quickly enabling you to communicate structure and more.
  21. Hey gang It doesn't matter the instrument involved, I would love to see your favourite shreds! Videos only please! You can post up your own shreds with you playing in another thread.... Cheers John
  22. Hi Owen. We've spoken a little about rap already, but...... Welcome to Songstuff! Just for something off the cuff, I write from my heart, breaking art, on the edge, feel the pulse of the masses as they move but they can't see Words flowin' free, bleeding blood, a flood of meaningful matches, can't stop, we got groove, livin' large Breakin' free A dam burstin' to the beat, four four on the floor, soaked red, the colour of my soul on the scales Pourin' out so much feelin' , left me reelin', lyin' spent lyin' dead, dark red, hot-rock coal, drivin' hard That's just me. I just took a notion lol.

    Hey

Hi Jonny *waves back* I agree with Tunesmithh, I am sure we will have members who would be interested. What sort of deal are we talking? Standard writer agreements? You may not want to disclose which artist on the public boards, but all will want to know. At this point can you at least say what stage they got to? It was a hell of a big queue of try out artists! What sort of music are they into?
  24. Hey Diana Welcome to Songstuff, good to meet you I like you sing pretty well everywhere. I sang in work, walking down the street, shopping. A full time singing addict. Do I get strange looks? Sure, sometimes, but mostly I get smiles. My friends initially were a bit embarrassed, but often with a little persuasion they would join in. I just remembered myself and a friend following a female friend the pair of us singing away, me with a guitar, when I was 18/19. A close female friend was going shopping for her weekly food shop. She couldn't afford a music player at the time, so we walked 3 paces behind the whole way, the 2 miles to the shops, followed her around the shop while she shopped, even while she ran her food through the till and back home again. Loads of people smiled and enjoyed it. So did she. She couldn't stop laughing. It wasn't an isolated incident. Usually I don't have a guitar with me!
