  1. Hey you ask and that was it at the time. Oddly, though I'm a guitarist, I am now listening to the horn heavy, no guitars.....
  2. Mahesh congratulations! Good tunes. I really liked Your Mind. No CD available? - I like it like that.
  3. Took it. I am also with Rudi - I don't promote diddley. I do think its a little interpretive. The term 'listeners' made me think. It kind of, as a majority depends on age. For instance my teenage Granddaughters have no interest in independent music, for the most part the younger generation goes with the social flow, even those who are musicians (when I was younger I wanted to be Pete Townshend or Jimmy Page and be a group destroying hotel rooms). As we mature our taste and musical knowledge expands. For me now once a band becomes mainstream/radio friendly, I tend to lose interest and look for something else. There will always be exceptions, but for the most part I want to experience a personal new discovery. For instance Josh Stone, I first heard her on public radio, a little girl with a big voice singing legitimate soul music ---- then they talked her (for the most part failingly) into trying the diva route. I had to move on. We all have our own examples. That's why we gravitate toward independent music and look forward to hearing music on this site. I think that's the most long winded I've been. I like the shadows.
  4. Good stuff. Reminds me of Gallactic. Quest Loves a Philly boy.
  5. Nice job Mahesh - and I want to thank you for turning me on to the Tiny Desk Concerts.
  6. Live in London and Paris - Otis Redding - backed by Booker T and the MGs and the Stax horn section
  7. I just seen a local indie band, The War On Drugs cruise by my work jamming on a tug and barge. Probably for a video.

They have a new release in August. Never seen a band working on a working barge. Sorry for the pics. it was a little far. My phone sucks at a distance.

A video I imagine. They went back and forth a few times. Curious - What do you think of them?

I have Wagon Wheel Blues - I feel the same - he definitely has his own vision. I read a review comparing his lyrics to Dylan. That's going far. I'll probably get the next release to see the progression.
