  1. Have you made any progress in collaborating yet?
  2. Welcome and my advice (as I guess I was where you are), dive into the archives for some great words of wisdom.
  3. Hi Johan. if this http://www.yangaroo.com/Home.aspx or this http://v5.dmds.com/DMDS.WebApp.Public/DefaultFrame.aspx is you, then please place all the details of your competition here - http://forums.songst...advertisements/ Thanks for asking 1st and before I go I have a couple of questions. If you are the above, why are you asking if you can promote your competition when neither link above shows a competition is actually running? Nothing on the homepage, news page or the blogs etc,. If you are the above (which appears to be the same company - just different domains which always smells fishy 2 me), why promote something yourself when you employ a PR company (yes you promote you have one of them but no competition - fishier)?
  4. Hi, welcome. What part in this mix are you wanting to find with someone else? Where do your strengths lie?
  5. You can laugh Goldilocks - it'll happen to you one day
  6. Great news about going into the studio - you must be good. Jealous as Good luck Spiderman
  7. Hey Chez, love the intro, you are not alone so jump into the fryer. Complete your profile, spend some time reading through the back catalogue of peoples lyrical entries and dive into the lounge too where there some great bits of advice on writing. Then critique some posted lyrics and post yours - you can critique any song on here too, not just the latest.
  8. It is which is why I thought I'd let you know. Hate when a site of mine displays like this for no apparent reason
  9. 10. Hi Sebastien In your original post you had the headphones graphic which I said I loved. Looks like you now use a new graphic. So if you're not using your headphones, can I borrow them? About your new website. After trying in 2 browsers, neither fully load your site. Have you checked for multi browser compatibility?
  11. Still like the headphones - can I borrow them if you're not using them please?
  12. As in the past and not what inspires you now?
  13. Hi & welcome. Will take a long look. A quick look gets you the question of a rough guide on prices, say a lead vocalist for a song?
  14. Any chance of completing your profile at all please?

  15. Where are your songs? No point referring you to say "a good friend and music contact" without knowing something of your work. As it is I can't find anything of yours posted here (which is a little suspicious) as you've bloated posts 'almost' demanding to know how to setup a company and/or how to sell your songs. This is a helpful "community" - community being the operative word where one joins in with giving and not just asking to take. So critique some songs, upload some of yours here and then perhaps a kind soul will listen to your questions.
  16. In some cases I agree Gradual, you have to build your style, your ability etc. But when it comes to collaborating say, perhaps the composer has written a C&W piece for you to write the lyrics. Then you need to understand the genre to get a feel for it. Of course you could always write a song called we will rock you to the C&W music but it wouldn't follows Queens rock song. I feel once you've got to a level where you are comfortable, you need to get out of your comfort zone and begin over by testing yourself to write something you wouldn't, whether in style or genre. I've found doing this the last few years has helped me a lot. As well as actually learning more about music.
  17. Help is all around the board for writing Matt, so take the time to look everywhere I've never tried yet rap lyrics so maybe you could help people like me with a few pointers sometime.
  18. Good to finally have you here Aaron - now the nagging really begins
  19. Welcome Katie. Take your time to dig through the site, lot's of useful info and help everywhere for you. Jump in and get involved. Don't forget, board etiquette is to critique others work before you post yours See my sig below for completing the basic requirements please.
  20. Good one Tom, wondered what you'd follow on with. Land of 1000 Dances - Wilson Pickett
