greetings fellow songstuff forum people!

yeah. i'm john... i write music and it seemed that this place might be good to get to know some people and share some ideas. i play guitars and if it has 7 strings, i'm instantly in love with it. i also play bass and if that has 7 strings too, then i'm in heaven. i'm an apple person at heart and once you go mac, you wont go back...

that's right. shameless plug for apple.

anyways. hi. bye.

:) Welcome. What kinda stuff you in to?

metal, worship, rock, classical, techno.... basically, this is my take on music:

if it's done in such a way that the music drips with passion and is truly from the heart, then i like it. it doesn't matter what type it is, i'm a fan.

i record acoustic and folky stuff at the moment because my gear limits me a bit. i use garage band but i use a digidesign mbox to interface with it which makes me happy. i'm about to upgrade to a protools/logic rig i think. just as soon as i sell a guitar. ah the sacrifices we go through as musicians.

Hey Redguitarfreak,

Welcome to Songstuff!

Hey that's the spirit! I like any type of music that moves me :)

Can you explain to me what exactly is folk music? I've heard it but I never really understand what it sounds like.

P.S. I can't wait to hear your tunes :)

ah. the definition of folk music. well, it's 'shrouded' in mystery as some say, i used it as a general term for more acoustic style songs that may just have a vocal and a guitar played with it. i dunno. maybe just saying 'acoustic' would have been better. that just goes to show you how vast this thing we call music actually is.

here's what wiki has to say about it

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Folk_music

and give it some time, and i will have a few tunes up for everyone. woohoo!!!
