What Singer Do You Sound Like And/or Have The Same Range As?

Recommended Posts

When you sing either on karaoke or to songs, what singer does your voice resemble, and/or what singers range does your voice match up to?

My dad says I sound much like Gerard Way of My Chemical Romance. I seem to have the same range as him: A2-D5. My range also matches that of Meat Loafs. How about you?

You'd probably be a high baritone.

D#2 - C#5 comfortably.

I am not as practised as I know I can be and at those points I can go D2 - D#5. As to who I sound like have no idea. At various points people have described my voice like a number of artists but that has changed some with time and few of which I think I sound like lol

As I have aged and also dependent on if I was a smoker at the time or not the characteristics of my voice have changed quite dramatically to my ears. I used to have a reasonable rock voice but now it's too round a tone for that.

I think that there are glimpses of some of my influences but they are fleeting.

I'd like to think I sound like Jonas Bjerre. I really would love to.

But, I'm probably closer to that sound a blackboard makes when you scratch it.

That's a question I would like to know myself. I've gotten comments from Ozzy (don't agree) to Joe Walsh (also don't agree) to Mungo Jerry (the guy that sings "In the summertime").

Mac Miller in these songs:

And Bob Dylan...

Ok just kidding about the Dylan lol

But basically I don't have a very good voice at all. But I have stories that need to be told and songs that need singing. So, I'll sing anyway.

Very much like the tomcat that prowls my neighbourhood at night time!

At last nights singing lesson, the coach took me from Bb3 to E4, though the E4 was shaky. It was also only my 4th lesson.

Demi Lovato. Although I can't quite get to her high notes which is probably due to a lack of training though. I know it's somewhere inside of me haha I just can't seem to get it out properly just yet :P

Low, dark baritone voice, but capable of upper range. C1 - F#3 on a normal day. I always say my range is comparable to Sara Bareilles, but I don't know of any guys with this vast of a range.
