it was half past dark on a Monday

the moon was in full glow

I thought my watch had broken

but time it just ran slow

to the left stood the right one

to the right well who cares

someone I need to see

but someone's not there

 

I walked away like a runner

with a cast on both legs

but I was not in a hurry

the world was still in bed

somewhere to the west

the sun was visiting there

while the moon shone brightly

reflecting the still night air

 

a girlfriend told me say nothing

kissing will surely suffice

so I moved closes

willing to take her advice

our lips locked together

no-one had brought a key

we stayed locked for an hour

until one managed to break free

 

this story has no rhyme or reason

except of course to amuse

so I hopped you smiled

as you were being confused

so I will say thank you

for reading this silly mess

and I'd like to add
