My Disappearance

Recommended Posts

Hopefully this will suffice for a suitable section of the forum to post this. On Dec. 17th I underwent a 9 hour back surgery to fuse my lumbar spine and implant rods, the final outcome of a car accident in June of last year. I've previously had 18 major surgeries over a number of years but never experienced a grueling recovery such as I am now. I was released to come home from hospital on Christmas Eve and went through the holidays in unimaginable pain. My wife acquired a 65 year old toddler to care for with all the things she has to do for me. I'm in a full torso back brace for 2 months that makes guitar playing impossible. Songwriting ain't happenin' with an undercurrent of pain uppermost in mind. Anyway, I am reaching some recovery milestones, albeit at a snail's pace. I hope very soon to be participating here again.

Good luck. Despite the pain it sounds like it's going relatively good and getting pretty close to being over with. Seems to have been a long, horrible road. Come Spring you should be raring to go!

Hi Dave,

So sorry about your accident and all you (and your wife :)) have experienced. Each milestone is important.  All the best in your recovery.  See you around the boards again when you are feeling better.

:)
