  1. Wow! that is very interesting. John, if I hit the "Promote" button does that promote on Songstuff's accounts or my personal?
  2. Wish me luck! Wish the artist singing my song luck! Luck! Luck! Luck!!!!

  3. Oh yeah! Who is going to the April 17 free Songwriters Workshop - THE BUSINESS OF SONGWRITING (AND SONG CRITIQUES!)? ME! ME!
  4. Thanks, I'm pretty stoked (obviously)

  6. Hey Samuel, great advice! You really were in the thick of it if you were getting this advice. I figure I am a nice person and have no intention of walking on anyone. But I notice when I'm walked on and have a good memory. I always try to have good titles/hooks. One thing that's not on your list that I do all the time is have recordings and lyrics with me at all times because (like you say above) You never know who you're talking to. I see on Reverb you have a show tonight? Hope you knock em dead! Also sent a friend request on Facebook. :-)
  7. and the sun finally comes out!

  8. UGH! I don't understand how someone on twitter who has 380 followers gets Shane MacNally to retweet one of their tweets!! I'm so mad right now!!!

What was the tweet about? Perhaps follow who is following them... cos Shane saw it via one of them ;)

  9. "So if you hear someone speaking a foreign language it always sounds as if they are speaking really fast. The reason being you do not know the agreed stress patterns and tunes of that language, so you are hearing it as separate syllables. They are not speaking fast at all." Gary, this is a great way to explain that. thank you. you know this was my weakness in Pat's class. I still suffer with it... I will re read this again and start absorbing it. :-) thanx!! This is an old blog post but I'm glad it bubbled up again.
  10. no, I don't recognize her name. I've not been able to do the rounds. the day job pay was barely enough to pay rent for a while... things are looking better though. Prayers being answered. I'll look her up! Thanks!
  11. oh no i haven't! But i want to soon! I actually knew someone who sang in one of the monday night songwriter rounds. but she didn't give me enough notice to get a ticket. they went fast... lol
  12. Hi Joel, what a crazy ride you had! yeah, the city can be rough here. i almost didn't move here due to the crime rate but i choose a town just outside of town and it's not been too bad. Lisa
  13. Hi ya Peter! Nashville has an amazing amount of country just outside the city. I'm happy to live out in the country close to the city...(oh I think that's my next song title...) I've been to the Opry at the Ryman theater and the timelessness of it made me cry. the main strip is too much to drive on. Next time I have a visitor, I'll go walk it! fun fun fun! Lisa
  14. Well Donna, it just happened I needed to relocate and I decided on this area. All things fell into place well so I'm really looking forward to this time in my life. The words are still pouring out of me so I'm going for it! If you ever get to visit here I'd love to meet up with you! Lisa
  15. Thanks so much! Hope you had a good ride!
  16. Thanks Rob, It's kind of bittersweet. I left Florida due to a life changing event for me. So I'm adjusting and everyone keeps calling me brave for just picking up and going. I did some planning but I don't know anyone here so it was pretty big jump. I knew i'd get a day job quickly. So things are in motion. :-)
  17. It seems strange that I never dared to dream that Nashville would be my home. Yet, here I am living just north of it and driving in to see it's unmistakable skyline every weekday! I'm HERE!!! I have to tell anyone who wants to be in the music business, that yes being in Nashville is better for your career. I have not yet set all my music goals into motion and have already gotten networking connections without even trying. I will always consider Nashville my home from now on. I have no where else I'd rather be.
  18. I'll be out of the loop for a few days. Hope everyone has safe Holidays! [smiley=note.gif]

  20. The moment you realize you're addicted to Songstuff.com: when you go on line to check your bank account but go the Songstuff.com site instead...

I have SongStuff as a page on my iPhone, iPad and MacBook, always on and always wanting my attention. Sounds like a marriage😱

  21. Hello Sonadora, I'm not much of a poet. sorry I can not critique your poem. You had asked to make it into a song.I would like to present a song that interprets your lyrics below. There were so many beautiful lines I could not fit into a typical structure so some were lost And if you would like, I could take your poem and help with the English a little if you want instead. Here goes: V1 City of tallest fountains in my dreams How dark are nights Without your lights Appearing like an angel heavenly V2 Friends come and carry sadness to the wind Shining and bright Feeling delight They beat depression lifted by your wings Chorus I walk along Tahliah Street To hear the music and it’s romantic beat Palm trees swaying in the tropical heat Longing for a glimpse of my angel to meet Oh turn my sadness to let my life be sweet Finding peace from my dejection on Tahliah Street V3 Trusting eyes staring at your shining face Going away Heaven’s highway Being high in status, I have to pay Chorus I walk along Tahliah Street To hear the music and it’s romantic beat Palm trees swaying in the tropical heat Longing for a glimpse of my angel to meet Oh turn my sadness let life be sweet Finding peace from my dejection on Tahliah Street Bridge/outtro Depression is just an angel’s hobby Helping great ones from drowning in their suffering To help others to help somebody Depression is just an angel’s hobby Let me know what you think, Be well
