can’t sign in, do I need to create a new account? -
It has been awhile since I've been here and I dare say, it seems there have been enough changes here that I'm not sure I know my way around. Is there a resource on here that explains some of the recent changes?

Hi PP,
So nice to see you around. The boards have been organized by Interest. For instant the critique boards are here. https://forums.songstuff.com/forum/299-critique-wip/

I'm getting a demo done to pitch to a Nashville artist. Wish me luck!

Hey, Peggy! So, the main purpose of me being here, is to create awareness for my music. (The availability of it for sale online, and my YouTube channel, "The lownotes Art Show.") I've been talking with Lisa, and now John. On Lisa's advice, I've compiled my YouTube channel's videos into a Blog. John also gave me some helpful advice. I'm going to slow down a bit on the showcase posts, and drip feed some of my favorite stuff there. It would be awesome if you decided to do something "lownotes" through your YouTube channel. (I didn't even know it existed!) I'm going to check it out, now. You guys are awesome! lownotes

One of the things I do on our fanbase YouTube channel is curate a weekly playlist of indie artists on Songstuff Music Stage.
https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCkEW8R8Bdu84VtR0Wv2-iqA
It has been on a bit of a pause but will be back on schedule next week. I try to include 3 Songstuff members songs on each playlist. I do look to the Showcase board for selections from the members. I'll also check their YouTube channels. We then promote the playlists on our Songstuff fanbase twitter account and our Songstuff artists base twitter account, our Songstuff blog and facebook accounts.
We have alot of plans for the channel and for highlighting our members and other indie music. Suggestions welcomed.
All fun and I'll be checking out your works!

It's been awhile. Hope all are well here. I see we still have some old timers and also new comers here now!

Hey guys and gals! I'm happy to report that I recently got word of one of my hip hop tracks making it onto an ESPN program called Outside The Lines(USA). I can't confirm it on my ASCAP account yet but if it turns out to be true, this will be my very first cable TV placement! 🤞
I'll keep you's posted!

Been trying to post in the chat with an hour and it won't let me.

Currently working on a track for an independent artist. She specifically asked for a production similar to "Funny When" by Mickey Shiloh(lyrical content not suitable for children, btw). Its quite a challenge to say the least, since I've never produced anything in that sort of style, before. Funny how these unexpected challenges introduce us to a whole new world, broadening the borders of our creativity. So stressful, tho..lol

I've lost my brains! My flash drive with all my lyrics is MIA...Ugh! Now I have to find the external hard drive with them on it. 💩 👀

I'll be out of the loop for a few days. Hope everyone has safe Holidays!

I will be releasing my first single on 1st December 2017. It is called Heroes and will be released via CD Baby to all the usual outlets.
I am hoping to have it played on an internet based radio show on the 29th November, so thought the release a couple of days later might help.
I have updated my website and I am using Twitter a lot more, so please join myself and John, Mahesh etc over there.

I just wanted to say, that I am not reviewing and critiquing at the moment, as I am trying to focus on my own tracks and every time I listen to a song a member has posted recently, I have got a fresh batch of inspiration and written more of my own songs. To stop this happening, I have made this difficult decision. I hope to be able to get back to this again soon and appreciate that you still comment on my own topics. Cheers R.

I have taken an unintended break from all things songwriting. Life has just stepped up the pace a bit since school started. This is a busy time of year for me--working, sports, school events and other. I hope to get back to critiquing and submitting new songs once routine finds its placement. Also, haven't forgotten "the project", just trying to wrap my brain around how to go about it. Looking for that happy place where my environment is settled and I can hunker down for a good chunk of thinking time--the best products come with that thinking time. My apologies for those lyrics and songs I may have missed out on. Hopefully, there will be time in the future where I can play catch up!

Hi all... apologies if I haven't responded to any of your comments. I have posted on a couple of topics, but haven't done anything about my own stuff.
Just to say, I lost my dad last week. It was unexpected and a bit of a shock and I thought I would deal better by taking myself away from my music (as I normally write sad, depressing music), but in reality, I feel like I needed to express myself and work through this with my music.
I will respond to any comments you have given me, but bear with me as I work my way through them.
Thanks R.

Sorry guys, I am going to be off the site for a little while. I had a really shit couple of days and I need to get my head together before responding to anyone or posting.
Its true what they say.... life really is a bitch.

Cut Her Some Slack
By Dawn Robertson
May/2017
From a beautiful land
Way before time
A vision was had
That a woman was right
For eternity following
Men would truly try
To tear down that woman
And make her cry
Men always thinking
A woman's easier to control
Without self confidence
Without friends or her goals
But the contrary realism
Is far distant from that
They just want their man
To love them back
Woman sacrifice and go without
And not say a word
They keep things inside
And bury their hurt
Until one day she just lets it out
Often years in the making
She purges the pain
Often crying and shaking
Then she is good again
And just carries on
Creating a better life for others
With her wings on
So the next time you feel
That your woman is crazy
You must think again
She is far from lazy
Just take five minutes
And cut her some slack
Let her know you see her struggles
And that you have her back
You will become even closer
And she will love you even more
There's nothing better to have
Then a woman you adore
She will glow like the heavens
And make you feel complete
Because she is born to love
And you are born to receive
