    Belated Happy New Year to everyone! Sorry I haven't been active lately, life has been pulling me in different directions: challenging but a good experience. I hope all goes well for you guys in 2020! Will keep in touch ;)

    Hey guys and gals! I'm happy to report that I recently got word of one of my hip hop tracks making it onto an ESPN program called Outside The Lines(USA). I can't confirm it on my ASCAP account yet but if it turns out to be true, this will be my very first cable TV placement! 🤞

    Great to hear your music/voice again, Achazia. I really love the first minute going into the song, its very inviting and has this "silky-slow-mo" vibe - if that makes any sense(haha). I really love the piano in this song, its gorgeous! Hope to hear more of your work! Ken

    If I were an artist, I would definitely subscribe to this! Great idea, @john and Songstuff team! I can't take part in the poll but I think the price is quite thoughtful for the struggling young artist. But maybe you could offer separate prices for students and working adults? If I come across serious independent artists, I will make sure to refer them to this right here. 😎 Ken

    I was really impressed with the execution of this pop song. I found out it was J-Lo's idea to incorporate the Brazilian Funk beat into the production, which is quite ingenious I think!

    Busy, working with a YouTuber and adding music to short dance scenes. I kind of like doing this type of work, its different and fun!

      UPDATE:

      They liked most of my tracks so its looking good, but its gonna take a while before things are finally over. They're very busy so what can you do? It is what it is. 🤷‍♂️

    Forgive my ignorance but I never really understood what progressive music meant, until this post. Thank you for broadening my horizons a little, I plan on doing some more research into this genre. BTW, I came across this drummer about a year ago, but now I know that she composes progressive pop music! Check her out if you're interested:

    'You're Still The One' The first song I heard from Shania Twain back in 1998, which is like two decades ago! I absolutely love the timbre of her voice, its quite addictive.

    Currently working on a track for an independent artist. She specifically asked for a production similar to "Funny When" by Mickey Shiloh(lyrical content not suitable for children, btw). Its quite a challenge to say the least, since I've never produced anything in that sort of style, before. Funny how these unexpected challenges introduce us to a whole new world, broadening the borders of our creativity. So stressful, tho..lol

      Update: I'm still waiting for the artist to come up with the vocal idea before I further develop the entire production... But in the mean time, here's a short sample I put together - the vocal hook is a sample from Splice, I just added it for fun.

    I use LPX because its the only DAW I really know how to use. If I had to switch to something else, I guess it would be Ableton Live manly because I like to produce EDM tracks. Ken

    Great qualities I see in some of my collaborators:

     

    - Fast worker

    - Can handle my blunt criticism and can also speak their mind.

    - Not afraid to try different musical styles

    - Quality recordings(clean audio quality)

     

    Its a pleasant and fun experience to be working with such a talented and professional group of people!
