  2. Belated Happy New Year to everyone! Sorry I haven't been active lately, life has been pulling me in different directions: challenging but a good experience. I hope all goes well for you guys in 2020! Will keep in touch ;)

  3. Hey guys and gals! I'm happy to report that I recently got word of one of my hip hop tracks making it onto an ESPN program called Outside The Lines(USA). I can't confirm it on my ASCAP account yet but if it turns out to be true, this will be my very first cable TV placement! 🤞

  4. Busy, working with a YouTuber and adding music to short dance scenes. I kind of like doing this type of work, its different and fun!

      UPDATE:

      They liked most of my tracks so its looking good, but its gonna take a while before things are finally over. They're very busy so what can you do? It is what it is. 🤷‍♂️

  5. Currently working on a track for an independent artist. She specifically asked for a production similar to "Funny When" by Mickey Shiloh(lyrical content not suitable for children, btw). Its quite a challenge to say the least, since I've never produced anything in that sort of style, before. Funny how these unexpected challenges introduce us to a whole new world, broadening the borders of our creativity. So stressful, tho..lol

      Update: I'm still waiting for the artist to come up with the vocal idea before I further develop the entire production... But in the mean time, here's a short sample I put together - the vocal hook is a sample from Splice, I just added it for fun.

    - Fast worker

    - Can handle my blunt criticism and can also speak their mind.

    - Not afraid to try different musical styles

    - Quality recordings(clean audio quality)

     

    Its a pleasant and fun experience to be working with such a talented and professional group of people!

  12. Creating a modern future bass track for a collaboration with a female vocalist. The verse, buildup and drop has been sketched out already, I hope I can complete the composition/arrangement by the end of tomorrow. This will be my first shot at writing with a vocalist so I'm pretty psyched about it! 🤘🙏

  13. I didn't know that bouncing individual stems could be...such..a..night..MARE!!! I need to figure out the best way to bus and group my tracks to be more efficient from now on.. Ay-yai-yai 😩

      My bad. I'm probably not using the correct terminology, here. I basically made rookie mistakes in my use of the aux channels and stacking features in Logic. Will take some time out to learn them properly.

  14. Working on some trap instrumentals(ala Purple Lamborghini and Burial). I'm not really familiar with the genre so it's a little tough..😣

      It was much harder than I thought but I managed to get the composition down.. *whew* 😓  I'll need a little break from it before I finalize the mix and master.

       

      Gonna give Future Bass a try, next.🤘

    I've been working on two tropical/pop tracks for a good number of days now, I found some interesting vocal samples to go with them so hopefully it all comes together nicely...and soon...🤞😅  -Ken

  18. Trying to create a tropical EDM track(ala) but it's taking me forEVER to catch up on the sound design aspect of synthesizers(Serum to be exact)..😩*sigh*

      Try SynthMaster or SynthMaster One - the sounds and design on that are excellent for the price.

      Thanks Richard, Serum is pretty amazing, too. It's the application part that's gonna take me a while to get a handle on. I did find a course for Serum so that's good and all, I just want this whole learning process to be over and done with. It's the frustration speaking lol
