No I don't but it really sounds like I should. I just sit in my computer chair and sing with some water on hand if needed. Could be why I normally have to do a few takes.

I'm not going to be much help but maybe it'll get the ball rolling. I have Reverbnation, Facebook & Soundcloud pages. Although I've not really thought of them as pages for promoting my music more than pages where I can put my music for people to give critiques on. I don't really have anything good enough to start promoting. It seem I get most of my fans through here and another song forum simply by having the link in my signature.

The more you sing, the better you will get. And especially if you write your songs keeping your singing abilities in mind. Think of Dylan, Willie Nelson and to a lesser extent Cher (all great singers in their own right). You wouldn't see any of them winning American Idle though. If you like it, do it. In just about every aspect of my life I've had people tell me I wasn't good enough for one reason or another. Singing and music is one of the last things I haven't conquered yet in that aspect, but I'm having fun trying.

I'd say the best thing to do would be to wait until you get the vocal melody. Without hearing that there's really not a way I can think of to do music that will match it. Of course I'm no expert, but I don't see how it would be possible to do the music to match something you don't know about. After getting that, I'd listen, listen and listen more to what she sends. Considering your knowledge of music, I'm guessing something will pop up. Just my 2 cents.
