  1. Hi Mestafool, welcome to songstuff.

I'm not familiar with FL but there are a few basic principles to check before trashing the lot...  ;)

1/ are the midi leads in the right way around?

2/ in the program itself there should be some sort of preferences or setup or options, usualy on a pull down menu. Make sure you have your midi device (Keyboard) selected as an input device. You can usualy set the output to the keyboard or your soundcard.

3/ Make certain that FL actualy accepts an input device such as a keyboard.

Hope this helps! If not get back here. There are more knowledgable people than me around.

    Good luck.

  2. It honestly doesn't matter if it's a recording of someone running their finger nails across a blackboard, it's a hit and better than anything ever recorded before. This almost makes me want to puke! Why can't these people just be honest? I have recieved such comment on some of my songs and I know myself they are lying.

Tom, they're not lying... Your stuff truly is the best there is...!  ;)

I am not very good at putting my thoughts in writing

    Coulda fooled me...!  ;D

  3. Well... It looks pretty and has a wealth of tools avaliable. I'm not sure what they all do? but for me they are a distraction and a waste of space. I haven't tried to disable any of them. It doesn't appear to be any faster or slower than IE and the first few times I used it, I was reminded on boot up that I had not shut it down correctly. But having used it I now know what the problem was. It also has a popup to remind you to purchase it for $15.

I must say that I dont like the look and feel of it much. It is very XP. I think I shall stick with IE for the time being.

  4. Folks

Hey, I live in the middle of the country and sometimes the sound of the silence is earth-shattering. Once you have got rid of traffic noise, aircraft noise, lawnmowers and so on the morning chorus of birds still wakes me up at 0500 every day! So maybe there is no such thing as silence...

    Alistair

I often take my three dogs out at 5.30 - 6.00am Just so I can listen to that kind of silence...Quite deafening sometimes... :D

  5. I find this a fascinating subject. A friend of mine suffers from tinitus (Ringing in the ears) he is currently undergoing  'sound' treatment. The idea being he wears headphones that play a sound that cancels out the sound of the tinitus. He is still in the early stages of this treatment but the results are starting to look good...!

  6. Hmmm Thats interesting! Perhaps the high profile cases against children and penshioners is paying off for the industry! I would like to see a week of protest where nobody on the planet buys any recordings at all. Mayby that will give the 'industry' a better perspective. I', quite sure that they are convinced that their policy of turning out mediocre pap is right!
