Welcome to songstuff! That's a pretty impressive C.V.
Would that some of us could have but half that experience! Dive right in. Noboby bites (except maybe Lazz now and then! But he's all gummy anyway)

You might try Marc. He writes some pretty good film type compositions! he's a member of this forum but visits infrequently. Try the link and listen to some of his compositions. I think he's a great writer. He can probably write anything you want!
Have a listen to,

This looks pretty good! Have you tried it out yet? Perhaps you could give a a review! Good points, bad points etc. Is it easy to install? can you install it alongside windows?

I think it's becoming the norm for the pop industry! I also think that a lot of pop music relies on this to sell what would otherwise be, very ordinary songs! I don't see it becoming too popular with the serious genres of music.

Hey! Welcome to Songstuff.

Hmmm. I'd be on the fence with these two arguments! I agree in part with both. But I think Mick Hucknalls view is less convincing!

I think Rudi's up for one. He may have to rely on me to post it for him.

Hey Emil! Welcome to Songstuff.
In my country, it is a sin to sit cross legged.Really...? Perhaps you could explain that?
I play Kabak Kemane. (Also known as Iklig, Rabab, Hegit, Rubaba , Keman, Gicak, Giccek or Gijek)Forgive my ignorance! Is this a style of music? Or an instrument?
I hope you like it here. And I hope you attain your dreams of vast riches... It never quite worked out for me.

Good to have you aboard. If you need anything? Ask one of the staff or mods. (We don't know anything we just like to know what you want...? )

Here we are then! This is my baby. I've had this guitar for over 30 years. I had originally bought a Fender Telecaster that was frankly, a piece of firewood! So I managed to do a swap at a local music store for this Antoria Les Paul and an accoustic. The only improvements made to this guitar were a new set of machine heads and the addition of the Gibson pickup, which was given to me by a friend. Oh I also stoned the frets due to a few uneven ones. It plays superbly! Much better than any Gibson I've ever played. (And I've had a few in my hands) and I would never part with it! I love it!

The technology has moulded my way of working!
That's an interesting point! I remember I used to just pick up my accoustic and write. Had to remember everything. When I finaly got hold of a 4 track, my writing changed considerably. I would spend hours programming the drum machine and writing the parts out on manusript in the relevant bars. Now with the computer, I write differently again! Never really thought about it before...
-
your favorite guitar. And tell us why you love it? and why you would never get rid of it!
I'll try to get some pics of mine later!

Lyrical Hooks
in Songwriting
Posted
I agree with Lazz. I have heard many songs with a good hook, but I've had no idea what the song is about! The initial 'feel' of a song can make or break it. I often think that the 'sound' of a lyric is often as important as the actual words themselves. My mind is a blank at the moment so denying me supplying any suitable example! Billy Connoly did a very funny skit about the typical pub singer. Somebody who knows no words of the song except the last line of each verse and the chorus!
"Hadaweeeeeeee
Fordagaaaaayyyyy
wadabeeeeeeeaaa
I love you!"
All being greatly exagerated!
By sustaining the last sylables with what sounds like the correct words, the pub singer can sing any song!
