  1. What's the news then? Any good?

I need to get another motherboard. The one I bought last year (PC chipsK7 FSB400) Is just not doing it for me!It won't recognise my Yamaha SW1000XG soundcard. I think this may be one of the reasons I haven't done any music fopr a long time!

  2. not possible to have used 160 gigabites in 2 months. not for me at least. and yes i did check everything elce, twice, then again, then again and again and again.

Yes but did you double check it again? :)

I'd send it back to Dell and get them to look at it. Another option is to format the drive and reload windows. Start from scratch. If you still have problems, it's got to be a hardware fault!

  3. I know it's a long shot! But I don't suppose you've filled up the hard drive? That would give all the symptoms you describe!

From what you say, it would suggest a hardware issue. When you installed the card, is there any chance you disturbed something else? Maybe you could have inadvertantly nudged the graphics adaptor. It might pay to open up the case and just ensure that all other cards are seated securely!

  4. You need to find a few chords to get you back. Try playing a few individual notes and working out some chords from that. Or, post up what you have and lets hear it. Much easier to get a handle on it that way.
