have any of you seriously experimented with hand-held drums like bodhran or djembe? i've been playing a little on a both of those drums (a couple of others as well). i've been playing on and off for years but thought it was about time i did some real work on them as they were never my main instrument, so i've not hugely progressed with them. if you've got any experience and can give me any tips or insights, or you just wanna talk about playing this kind of drum, i'll be a happy bunny.

Why is the alphabet in that order? it's spelled that way Why is there no other word for synonym? there is, just not in the english language Why is there only one word for thesaurus? i'm back working on scales to expand my repertoire. apart from that i've been working on finding more linking riffs between chords. eg between a, Am and D in a n open voicing, or A on 5th to E on 7th.

when it started I thought it was pretty tame, but boy he heats up! thing i often find with technically good guitarists is they have a prob with 1. what is appropriate and 2. how to play with feeling. that's what i tell myself so I feel better

interesting, but i imagine it depends on what sort of mental illness. perhaps it's not that artistic people are more prone to suffering from a mental illness, but that people suffering from mental illness are likely to develop their creativity as a powerful coping mechanism, a stress release, finding ways to express themselves and let their anxiety out etc.

i've just seen some more on the TV. these dudes are nutters, and to be honest so are the people who cheer them on from the crowd, tho i'm guessing they are probably just the same people waiting their turn lol. I just DON'T GET IT! Maybe if they called it "Look Like A Twat".....

i wasn't really thinking about it for me, but thought the process was interesting. i've sprayed a number of guitars, it is good to do if you have access to decent air gear. i had my own airbrushes for doing artwork and a compressor so i could get a good finish and do some detail work.
