  1. thanks John I`ll just go with what I have, Thank you for commenting and your time...Cisco
  2. just for me, I share songs on writing sites not the music sites like u tube, I use those but its all unlisted. I have a few songs, and i`m old, they go into a folder for my kids and g-kids. Still I get them out and drag them around the net to get ideas and help and hints with some songs. I don`t have a song like this, and I like to change things up I kinda wanted a factual song..that seemed diff to me, so here i am. Years ago this group [Yardbirds] I think had song verses taken from the bible, put it tnto rock in the 70`s I think, I was just a teen, that was so cool to me. [Turn, Turn, Turn. please understand I `m a guy that writes a little and can play a few chords on a guitar.. the truth is it all goes into a folder...but I want it good enough, song and video to share if i want. people can listen and watch without saying what the "hec? thats about as far as the songs get. most the songs just cause I like doing them, and it beats scrabble. thanks so much John. Cisco
  3. thanks for your thoughts John, I have this song i`m putting together, and a slideshow with it. have a few images in it and lyrics in between the images. I can`t do much about the images they are from artists and history. BUT can I get you to take a look and give me your opinion if the lyric should stay in the slideshow or lose them, maybe add other images.. or maybe lose the slideshow. this is the song I think the show helps..and can I post it here or recommend the proper board. its not finished so its raw, and I have a few mistakes I have to change. [proper history] thanks again for commenting..Lane
  4. its been a while, I`ve been around I was just wondering what others thought. Does a slideshow have much of an effect on the listener? or does it just get in the way of where the listener would go with just the music. I`ve had some say the show took them in a different way they thought it would just listening to the song. just trying to get some ideas how to use the slideshow, and when not to. maybe when its directed at a certain thing? but not to when its a generic" let the song take you where it will. I think there is a total difference between a video and a slide show so the impact will be different. but is there enough difference to "not use the simple slide show? sometimes its a hard call, I have a song , without a video, and the way its written you all most have to have the video or slide show, I think it helps that much, but thats just me, thanks to all if you make it here.
  5. its like I`m always saying hello again, [thats like a song] I see some new people here, and a few I do know. wishing a good day to you all. "she never had the heart to tell me herself I`ve got this note, and the keys....I know She`s on the run so when she calls me my friend.. I`m always.....saying hello again"......lol just having fun, hello to you all, old friends and new...
  6. Hi Tom and John, hope all is good in your world..I`ll go mess around on the boards some.
  7. been awhile I`ve been around the site, been writing and playing but not sharing, so just a new hello..
  8. hello to you..welcome. Cisco

  10. thought I would stop here and say Hello to you Tony..
  11. we all differ in the way we write, I don`t rhyme much, but its not a bad thing. take them as you see the write your doing.whats working. I thought this would make a good topic. I have a friend share a little with me, I`ll share it here, made alot of sense to me. [What you have imperfect rhymes] thats me!...lol [my friend] I am a connoisseur of rhymes!!! (no secret here) They are my passion and hobby and did I mention my passion, BUT BUT BUT I fully realize that some of the great songs out there have minimal rhymes while there are others that are fully loaded with rhymes. Both identical rhymes and soft rhymes play their part in the right setting/genre. I can think of a hit by Toni Braxton "Unbreak My Heart" written by Dianne Warren whose Chorus has not one rhyme in it and it shines. Infact if you look at the verses they are very shy on rhymes and yet the song became a big hit. Let's study the lyric.... "Unbreak My Heart" Don't leave me in all this pain Don't leave me out in the rain Come back and bring back my smile Come and take these tears away I need your arms to hold me now The nights are so unkind Bring back those nights when I held you beside me 1-Un-break my heart Say you'll love me again Un-do this hurt you caused When you walked out the door And walked outta my life Un-cry these tears I cried so many nights Un-break my heart, my heart Take back that sad word good-bye Bring back the joy to my life Don't leave me here with these tears Come and kiss this pain away I can't forget the day you left Time is so unkind And life is so cruel without you here beside me (Repeat 1) Ohh, oh Don't leave me in all this pain Don't leave me out in the rain Bring back the nights when I held you beside me (Rpt 1) Un-break my Un-break my heart, oh baby Come back and say you love me Un-break my heart Sweet darlin' Without you I just can't go on Can't go on The song had a great melody and emotion and went to no#1 but it's rhymes are very sparse, i.e. pain and rain NOW... let's look at another hit with endless rhymes throughout the lyric: "Yesterday" Yesterday, all my troubles seemed so far away Now it looks as though they're here to stay Oh, I believe in yesterday Suddenly I'm not half the man I used to be There's a shadow hanging over me Oh, yesterday came suddenly Why she had to go I don't know, she wouldn't say I said something wrong Now I long for yesterday Yesterday love was such an easy game to play Now I need a place to hide away Oh, I believe in yesterday Why’d she have to go?I don't know, she wouldn't say I said something wrong Now I long for yesterday Yesterday love was such an easy game to play Now I need a place to hide away Oh, I believe in yesterday A rhyming summation of the rhyming conversation One song with little rhymes One song with alot But what they have in common Is the number one spot Look at the song in total Especially melody For therein lies the treasure
  12. hey Carrie do you play/sing? I`ll post a country song, I like country its all about whats going on at the time..three chords and the truth kind of thing. I`ll get in there and read your lyrics, don`t expect some great review..lol I`m not the best at that,,,
  13. I was asked to write a song about the feeling of loss, or emptiness when people go missing. children, lost in war, people we can`t recover. I came up with the kids part I think..do you think others will know what I`m trying to say? I want to write this a verse at a time so I don`t get to vague. I can`t think of anything more cruel than not knowing what happened to loved ones..[just my thought] any thoughts are welcome. I always put on a little noise with the write to give you a better idea where I was going with it, and kinda how it meters. forgive that...lol http://snd.sc/W4IZSi V1 Daughters twirl in lace and glass-slippers.. all the Children with Bubble-gum breath. The laughter once rang down hallways.. Mothers and Fathers stand striking their chest.. Chorus chorus: that is just like thunder its like rain... hearts without love ship without sail. it is all like thunder.... and its hard to explain it is just like falling going under a wave... Vincent 2012 ====================================== this is just thoughts I had for it.. when they are never seen again beware of the farel human" I have never counted the hour... always love We repeat to the Gods, mea culpa is harder to bear.. putting on 'widows weeds'..
