  1. the vst bridge if I remember is on that site, it allows audacity to use VST(virtual studio technology) plug ins. you install your vst files and then audacity uses the vst bridge as an adapter... if I remember correctly. scratch that, they changed it's name to vst enabler: http://audacity.sourceforge.net/help/faq?s=install&item=vst-enabler
  2. nice one mp Moonchild - King Crimson
  3. http://audacity.sourceforge.net download the right version of audacity, also download the vst bridge. then visit our free vST advisory to get some links to quality plug in VST effects and processors
  4. sure, audacity mixes wave files. reaper is good but isn't free, close considering what it offers, but still not free.

  6. Sounds like you are recording directly onto the stereo track adding the new track by mixing with thr original stereo to create a new stereo track.... wnay reason that you are not using multitrack recording? There are lots of apps (free and otherwise) that allow you to mix many single mono tracks, stereo tracks etc into one mix stereo track... The idea being that with each new track you record you hear what you will be adding it to but what is recorded is only the instrument you are recording at the time.... you can also choose what previously recorded tracks you want to hear on playback. When the time comes to create your mix, all your individual instrument tracks are there for you to alter volume and EQ settings, effects etc... and then create a master stereo output track. ie because you can vary the rhythm guitar volumes (and all the other ones) you can "mix" the final stereo mix master. I hope that makes sense.... and all possible on a computer

  15. many thanks Jim. There are sooo many ways that Songstuff could do with help. let's just say it's not a short list! Everything from authors to moderators or topic experts to marketing and promotion, coders and designers. We have lost a few active staff due to ill health and other circumstances, and to fill in some of the rolls I traditionally filled that with the site expansion and development work I now find myself being spread too thin. I'll drop you a pm so we can have a chat Thanks again for being willing to look at becoming involved on another level Cheers John

  19. D#2 - C#5 comfortably. I am not as practised as I know I can be and at those points I can go D2 - D#5. As to who I sound like have no idea. At various points people have described my voice like a number of artists but that has changed some with time and few of which I think I sound like lol As I have aged and also dependent on if I was a smoker at the time or not the characteristics of my voice have changed quite dramatically to my ears. I used to have a reasonable rock voice but now it's too round a tone for that. I think that there are glimpses of some of my influences but they are fleeting.
  20. Oh and just on the subject of blog comments to get good backlinks there are some wordpress and other blogging platform plug ins that are do follow, or at least do follow by default. Search for that plug in name, or the default widget title etc as part of your search criteria and you can hugely save time on finding the do follow on topic blogs. Yet again using the right browser plugins configured in the right way and you cn re-order the results according to google PR etc, yet again improving your targeting and reducing the miss rate.
  21. Hi Zedara, welcome to Songstuff Hopefully Songstuff is mentioned on your blog somewhere In a nice way of course!
  22. With the right plug ins in your browser and the right queries in your search engine it's not too bad finding do follow links, but to be honest there are many many companies and individuals that will set you hundreds or thousands of backlinks, video submissions etc for a very low cost. Sites like fiverr.com make costing specific services a lot easier... I wouldn't use several of the backlink strategies on your main site, but your youtube videos etc are a great way to help promote certain things. For a songwriter, knowing upfront certain keywords or keyphrases and using those within your song, particularly the title, is the place to start the seo preparation. Niche driven songwriting.
