Nothing for myself but considering asking my wife to get me a budget bass guitar since i don't have a bass. But maybe budget is a waste of money... Maybe sticking to daw bass is better... Anyone tried gear4music own brand? Anything else would be too expensive to ask for...

Two years ago I bought a $100 dollar used bass. I can't even recall the brand (even though I played it just two days ago) but I know it wasn't that good of one. One thing I can say without a doubt is it is EXTREMELY fun to play. I never knew how much fun it was to play bass. I still suck at it but even rolling along with a nice easy groove is highly pleasurable. So, on that note, for the fun of playing alone, I say go for it. You can always go back to the daw bass if needed. Depends on which way you lean though as far as instruments go.

For me, to know the intent of the artists is most important. Is the artist insane? Out there so far that no one else can know the ideas? Has the artist carried being different a bit too far? Can a few artists land the airplane and share why they make strange art?

I'm no artist but for me, the best artist and art and music, etc… is the stuff I don't understand at first. They let me see things a different way. If everything is easily recognizable with no mystery, you get the same ol same ol. Which is good for the most part because it's comforting. It can be carried too far. That's why there's the true artist and then the posers. Forcing differentness without a real vision.

There is a correlation between art and what's happening in the real world today. Artists work, make and change along the way and arrive at a finished piece. Life is very similar. What is happening now, thanks to the internet, is people are standing behind the artist, commenting, altering decisions and in general being a big pain in the ass when they should just shut up and wait for the finished product. It's truly not for other people to judge artists, especially mid-work. They can either understand them or not but in no way should they alter the idea with their influence. Let the artist be the artist. If you don't like it, make your own art.

For all things, those best at it have a gift for it. They can see things in ways others aren't able to. Everything can be duplicated, replicated right up to the last detail. But it's that initial vision that cannot be duplicated.

  3. Normally you'd want to post in the song and recording section:

This sounds pretty good but I can't get past the "dices." The plural of dice is dice, not dices. Dices is rarely used but when chopping food in a sentence such as "He dices the food at the restaurant." Even then it'd be better to say "at the restaurant his job is to dice food."

One "dice" = Die  Two or more = Dice

Caveat: It's music and we now tweet and text. So technically you can try to invent something new all the time.

Shame on Rudi!!! He should be hung, drawn and quartered! And then banned! In that order!

So what's the deal … you're an angry American now?!?!?! LOL I'm not sure if that's the connection, it's all I could come up with.

but guessing they have a lot to answer for i.e. Blink friggin 182 and Green friggin Day!

Back in the 80's, every skater tape I made had at least one Descendents song on it. Are you saying though they're the inspiration for Blink & Green, or vice-versa?!?!

  6. It sort of has a couple uses. Here's a couple ideas to maybe help.

Man A has a great idea. Man B has a great idea. As much as Man A wants to do his idea but always seems to struggle on actually doing it or getting started. Man B however wants to do it and does what it takes to get it done. He has the mojo to get it done. Similar to gumption or will.

    another

Man A and Man B are at a bar and both see a woman they'd like to talk to. Man B goes right over to her, starts talking to her and see what comes of it. Man A keeps watching the woman, but never gets out of his seat to talk to her. He lacks the mojo Man B has. A sexual kind of mojo.

The proper definition has to do with magic. It can be seen kind of as a good luck charm kind of thing. As in: His mojo really helped him get that job.

A vast majority of times I've seen it used in cases similar to the first two examples.
