  1. Personaly, I think it's an irritant! I have ignored these posts in the past and they soon disapear off the page. I just thought there seemed to be an increase in this type of post and followed it through. I wonder what type of response the artist is getting from this? There must be SOME response otherwise it would stop! It was definately being encouraged on the above mentioned site...

  2. I dare say you have all noticed the odd post by a new member, promoting a particular artist, never to be seen again! I checked up on a few of the artists mentioned and it seems to be the 'thing' to encourage the fans to promote the artists in as many places (forums) as possible. I'm not sure if this is a good thing or not! But it appears to be on the increase. I visited the site of Bonnie McKee. She has a forum where you can join up to the 'Troublemakers'.

In a nutshell, as a troublemaker, you can earn points toward a signed album or some other Bonnie McKee stuff by spreading the word! Here's a snippet of the latest tasks available to the troublemakers.

    *MISSION 6: SPREAD BONNIE'S MTV A-Z SITE!* 100 points

As most of you all know, Bonnie was hand-picked by MTV to appear on "ADVANCED WARNING." So we want to give everyone a head's up and a preview of Bonnie by sending them her MTV A-Z Page filled with Bonnie exclusives!

The member who sends the most "A-Z" links will win an autographed "Trouble" album and a Warner cd prize pack (any 3 cds of your choice from artists listed here!)

Go to the Send/Post A Link section to grab your own personal A-Z link to start sending around! [ends Feb 28, 2005]

    *OFFLINE MISSIONS* 3000 points

Want to help spread the word about Bonnie on the street at concerts, shows, school, etc... ? E-mail us at teambonnie@fanpimp.com for more information!

You will also be asked to submit a report and photos are always a plus! Here is an example of some awesome Bonnie promo pictures!

Is this a good idea or not?

  3. "Anyway, I prefer a working program....."

That is always the ridiculous attitude of ignorance (to my experience).

As I read these posts, I can only say that the companies profit, the warez users get what they want at almost no cost, and the retards who stick to the rule of the letter of the law are the only ones in the chicken-coop getting eaten alive.

Out of all the warez I've tried, very very few caused glitches, bugs, viruses, or any of the paranoid crap ignoramuses spout on about. If I got 1 or 2 viruses this way over the years big deal, there was never once instance where my up-to-date virus-checker did not work and put the shite away.

Use warez when you have to. Don't feel bad. The guys at Steinberg really don't care about you.  They care about their own interests, JUST LIKE YOU.

Wake up and stop whining. Get whatever you need done - done.

What do we do with them?

??? I forgot what the question was...?

  4. What version of sonar are you running. As from experience i know this is fine in version 2,3,4. 256 ram is not really enough to run music. 512 minimun. I wouldn't want to run sonar on anything less that a p4 2400.

    <{POST_SNAPBACK}>

I run sonar quite happily on a 1ghz Athlon with 512mb ram. I don't use too many plugins but I have never suffered any ill effects when I have !

  5. actually i should clarify.. singer/lyricist - why do you like his her voice/lyrics?

    <{POST_SNAPBACK}>

Because I like such a huge range of music, it would be very difficult to point out 1 voice! But if had to pick out 1, it would more than likely be..... Nat King Cole.

His voice has a resonance and timbre that just cuts through into your very soul, caresses it tenderly, and then buggers off down the pub leaving you with a sense of loss!

  6. Folks,

A mate of mine has a decent enough PC ( modern Celeron - not sure exactly which clock speed, 256Mb RAM, WinXP ) which runs these packages individually in parallel without problem.

However, when he hooks them together with ReWire, the CPU usage goes through the roof and the system basically becomes unusable. This is even with a minimum amount of simple VSTi's in use.

Any ideas? Does he just need a P4 with 512Mb? Or is the ReWire implementation on Sonar buggy?

    <{POST_SNAPBACK}>

I think it may be the Celeron! AND the lack of ram. Win XP takes up a huge amount of resources! Just press 'ctrl-alt-del' and see whats running... The celeron is a good chip for everyday apps but all this music stuff is pretty processor intensive, and running two apps at the same time could cause problems on an under spec'd machine!

I would suggest at least 512mb ram, even better would be 1gig ram and a better cpu.

  7. Have good nights sleep John.

You are correct in all you said.

I might post a few more thing yet tonight, but then I'm off to build a house. ;)

Is this a solo project Tom?

Watch out for those fancy kitchen installers!

  8. Hhmmmm...I think I would rather choose another instrument! There is always room for improvement in the instrument you play, and I guess this stops when you die. Practice is the key! Something I have been rather lax about lately.

  9. I do have a harddisk full of ideas, though. That's a lot of the process, for me. I walk the dog and suddenly a theme hits me. So I run in, record the theme roughly and then leave it.

    <{POST_SNAPBACK}>

I hope you run back out and rescue the dog?

I have a little notebook so I can capture the lyrical ideas before I forget them.

Unfortunately I can never remember to carry the notebook with me.

    :D:D:D

  10. Sadly not :D ... I have got some rejections and some returns (apparently bankrupt or something). I plan to do a call round after new-year. I'm guessing they have Christmas vacation now.

This is bad news Finn! We were relying on you to hit the big time... Then I could interview you...
