  1. ...or nervous!

I have just recently been invited to start working with this Singer/Musician/Songwriter out of Nashville.

    This is a bit sketchy!

I will basically do some background piano work and also some pre-mastering on the end tracks. ...............This won't be album work at this point, but more of a package presented to producers.

Are there producers waiting for this stuff? Or is it still on the ground?

Who knows, you might just hear our work on a movie some day.

So is it instrumental stuff or what?

Also, is there an article in this? Please take copious notes...

Say hi to the wife for me will you...? :)

  2. Sort of relevant link -  Live Music archive. In case you haven't come across it before, this is part of the Internet Archive which has been archiving web sites etc since 1996. Currently contains about 1 petabyte of information and is an online digital library with very large collections of audio, video, texts, web sites, and software. For example, it claims to host footage of more than 20,000 live concerts, and snapshots of the Internet dating back to 1996, accessible through the well-known Wayback Machine, which currently hosts over 40 billion web pages.

If you are a Grateful Dead fan there is a VAST quantity of Live Concerts available. There is a fair selection of artists there.

Rudi will be pleased! He's a dead head..

  3. 1. Never have a run through if you can help it. You will always cock up the first 'Record' after.

    2. Relax.

    3. To save time, make sure you have everything you need! (spare plecs, strings, crowbar etc.)

    4. Don't let the engineer bully you into doing something you don't want to do!

You're the one paying the wages.

    5. Check how long the song(s) is (are) and check that this is OK with the engineer? We wasted over an hour cutting down a song cause the engineer thought it was too long!

Do you need/want a backing track? (drums etc). It might be wise to have some ready to insert. Even if you don't want them in the final mix! + this will give you a firm foundation to play along to.

I think I'm getting more excited than you now! ^_^

  4. If there is anyone else out there besides me who is interested in this sort of nitty-gritty, I have a *.pdf of the court judgement.

I can e-mail it willingly although, sadly, doing so will not constitute an infringement.

    :) yes please.

  5. I just bought the last issue of computer music and they talk about this Actinic that Steve posted, they say that with this product you can sell mp3, t-shirts and cds.

they have 2 versions, one of them allows you to sell up to 25 products and the other one allows you to sell up to 10000 products.

the 25 prod. version costs 290€ and the other one 725€.

They do a good range of software. I put together an online pet store for a friend. I was hoping he would go for it so I could buy the developer package. With that, you can build as many online stores as you want! Unfortunately, the guys a skinflint and wanted me to do it for nothing... ;)
