  1. ....... and what we don't know, we can always learn, if we really want to or need to.

And hey Steve - what's happening with your recent trio-playing invitation?

    <{POST_SNAPBACK}>

:( Sadly Nothing! The woman I spoke to has dissapeared! I've been asking around but it's difficult when you're stuck behind a counter all day. I haven't given up completely, I still have a few avenues to go down.

  2. I don't wanna seem cheap but..  :(

are any of these free?  endemo-->

its jst i'm only 15 and have a low budget, but love recording things.

atm i use audacity or wavepad, and it's okay but more control would be nice i guess...  does anyone know any decent free recording programs???  appreciate it!

Buy a copy of 'Computer Music' they have free software on the cover disk.

  3. Try just picking a few notes out of each chord while you're singing, then when not singing you could strum the chords a little louder. This will give you more light and shade. Alistair is right about the vocal being at the forefront. Thats where the concentration should be. When you've finished playing a song, people remember themain song in terms of the singer not his gutar playing! Good luck! :)

  4. I started playing guitar at the age of 15. As soon as I had learned a few chords, I tried to make up my own tunes. I wouldn't call it songwriting, more, composing on a naive scale..

I actually found one of my earliest attempts at a song a few weeks ago. It was called 'Paper Trails' The lyrics don't really mean anything! I could dig it out and post it if anyones interested?

  5. On the same note (as it were...) Does anybody come from a musical background? I know Bongstuff does, and I assume this has an effect on the individual. My Dad was tone deaf and didn't really like music of any kind that much. As far as I know, none of my imediate ancestors has ever picked up a musical instrument, and likewise, none of my offspring have ever showed any real interest in learning to play!
