  1. Mac may indeed be better for graphics and such. But if I want to upgrade or replace parts cheaply, it's PC all the way.
  2. No I didn't take the test, but now I'm gonna go back and do it. I read the article, is about all I did, and was planning to go back for the rest. Doin that here in a bit.
  3. Interesting article http://www.npr.org/blogs/allsongs/2014/03/12/289435279/hear-neil-young-explain-his-pono-music-player-at-sxsw
  4. I had this vst web page in my bookmarks, but haven't used it or looked around much yet http://www.vstwarehouse.com/ I say PC, because it's less proprietary and computer parts from other computers are more interchangeable when you have to replace them.
  5. Mike and Kenj nailed everything that needed to be said basically. I always find it helps (at least for me) to know how you are going to conclude the story from the start, so that there is less fishing for an ending after you have begun. Good luck, I look forward to seeing it progress.
  6. I'm back!! When it rains it pours, but when it does, I'll take a drink of it and keep pushing on.

  14. Some of those tutorial will open up a whole new can of worms for you on how to put things together. I found some of them a huge help in understanding the program...of course I'm one impatient Mo Fo.
  15. It won't take as long as you think to learn. Within 3 months. I was making cool sounds. Also I went to Youtube and watched some tutorials, that might help you too.
  16. Man that is a good start! I would repeat that part at the end of that clip, and add an ambient background. I like the forlorn feel to that.
  17. Once you get your drivers license, I can say from experience; the accomplishment will drive you to more accomplishments as you feel the satisfaction. Take one hurtle at a time and you get stronger; more independent and confident. Oh...here are the links V....The songs kinda suck, but gotta start somewhere. http://forums.songstuff.com/topic/23635-muster/ http://forums.songstuff.com/topic/33432-journey-to-truth/
  18. "I have a boyfriend with ADHD. A hell sometimes to live with but I'm getting used to it by now. Just have to tell him everything 6 times before he does it or remembers it And a lot of notes to remember him of things if I'm working." lol...That's funny! I think that's why my two marriages didn't work out, I was too frustrating. It's not that we have terrible memories (ADHD's) it's that we got so many things going through our mind at once, it's hard to stop, take a breath and focus.......ok, and sometimes we forget .....That's why I have a problem critiquing more in depth, I lose my train of thought to quick. Some days I can write more detailed than others, depending on my episodes. Yea, the two songs I have in the music section were done on Magix Music Maker. They are not that good but I put them up anyway. Still learning it. It's gets easier as you play with the features more. You should pick it up easier than my hyper; gray haired old ass did.
  19. Hey V,..... try Magix Music Maker. You will have to get some additional sound pools for it, to have a wide range of instruments or sounds, but I have found this is the easiest to get started (at least for me) It has A LOT of sophisticated deeper stuff you can do with it too, but I take that part slow. It's more "Drag and Drop" for the sounds than many of the other programs....Good to see you got a blog, I'm to ADHD to keep one up, it's bad enough fighting to keep focused, reading or writing one lyric, a blog would make my head explode if I tried that! Someday I'm going to Scotland, my best friend has been there 3 times.
  20. Too many projects, so little time

  21. Hey..part of that is the pic I found on another site!...I didn't have the article
  22. And in some parts of Michigan for medicinal purposes.........I am told......
  23. As a lyricist only, I would say many things factor into the inspiration aspect. I would say 50% of my inspiration comes from a phrase or combination of words I heard someone say, or that I read in an article or something I saw on TV. Although I do use my own experiences in life, to draw from during a write, I find myself mostly drawing it from those around me as watch them in their daily lives. Another 30% of inspiration comes from my lyric title that I may have thought sounded "cool" or good, and I just write around it and fill it in. Most of the time I have no idea where I'm going with a lyric until I get to the second verse or the chorus. I have read in many places, that one should have a clear picture from the beginning of what you want to write about, but I don't work that way most of the time. I would say that 20% of my inspiration for a complete lyric comes from the chorus (which of course was inspired by something else). I suddenly have a cool or killer chorus (in my opinion of course) and I make up the rest of the lyric to fit the chorus. I think inspiration has layers;.... this inspires that, that inspires something else, and so on. Inspiration is in the eye of the beholder I guess.
