i did it!
we only need to write lyrics right? because i've done 21 in 29 days, but all of them without music
but i did write them with consideration to structure. i gave headers like verse 1, verse 2, pre-chorus, chorus, etc before each set of lines although i haven't made the melody, rhythm, cadence, and chords to it
it was really fun! problem is i wrote 20 of them in my native language and only 1 in english so the last one is probably the only one i can post at the lyrics criticque section
so, do i qualify?
*i'm actually planning to continue this on my own, since it's becoming a habit
Hell, just post them all up. We all speak your language here.

pictures will be put here in 5 minutes
I've waited up all night for those pics!

When I played, the parts were all worked out on the guitar or keyboard, and assigned to the appropriate person! It was then up to that person to learn the part!
When you say 'written out' do you mean notation?

not warped and yeah im using thicker gague strings this time, 11 to 56's i think they are ... i used to use 7 to 42 or something
Probably 9 - 42. If you change the string gauge, you really need to have the guitar 'setup' again. Especially if you go from 9s to 11s. That's a pretty big leap! Get a Les Paul. A lot less trouble!7 to 42 or something -
OK. I think I have heard this before. When you record the drums to one track, they sound OK? I think when you record the guitar track, you are also reording the drum track as well! So you have two tracks playing the drums putting it ever so slightly out of sync! Check this by playing the guitar track on its own. If you hear the drums playing, you need to adjust your recording settings.

Hold the guitar so you can look along the length of the neck from the bridge down to the tuning pegs. How straight is it? Does it look warped at the end? Are you using the same gauge strings as before?

Those links are giving me an error page. Can you try linking up again? Have you checked to see that you are not mixing through an onboardproccess? i.e. I have a Creative Audigy c ard and I can mix down with different effects added, or I can play games with different effects added. If you have inadvertantly selected a process for the soundcard to play whilst listening, you might be adding it to anything you record!

definitely using Pc is the cheapest!~ heheh
That's a good point! Maybe that's why so many are using the PC? Does anybody use their PC just for recording? I use mine for everything including doing my accounts and bookeeping! But I do have a seperate profile that I use when I need it for recording.

That looks pretty usefull! Well done Nick1 And thanks. I might just print that out and play around with it!

well its not in my computer , it was a hard drive i had to take out because it didnt boot at all, it doesnt work at all when i plug it into my computer but sometimes if i tilt it then it will work it is quite weird, might be because it is quite old but still i dont know.
System:
Microsoft windows xp
version 2002
service pack 2
Computer:
AMD Duron processor
1.36GHz with 768MB of RAM
Sapphire Radeon 9600 Atlantis
TE100-PCBUSR 32-Bit Cardbus PC Card
hope that is anyway helpful
Presumably, you have another hard drive running windows? Have you tried setting the jumper to 'Slave' and plugging the drive back in? If it works whilest tilted at an angle, Try plugging the cables in with the drive outside the case and placing it at an angle! Although if it does only work at an angle, it might be much more serious than you think!

Looks like the PC is the way to go for the average musician! Anybody who doesn't use the PC for recording like to explain their setup? and why it's their prefered way?
-
I think the Soundblaster live had a great midi drum set! I've just listened to your track Afiqme, and it sounds great! As a budget card, it was pretty good!

will you perform this trick at the meet steve? if so i want to see photos!
Trick? The only trick here is trying to get away with wearing that shirt! I think Rudi's got one like that!
-
I quite Neil Young as a writer. I can't stand to listen to the guy sing!
-
I own one, can't play it, but have heard it played and it sounded nice in someone elses hands. Made in Canada aren't they? I've often wondered if the Bad Co. song Seagull off their Bad Co. album was about that brand of guitar.
Send it to me Tom, I'll see if it's any good...

I was looking at a bazouki (sp?) the other day! Might have another foray into that if I can find some time! Good luck with your playing smitty!
-
Lol, I was scraping the barrel, I admit it... But considering I had more important things on my mind (well, catchy music anyway) and it was 1am I think I can get away with it myself
No good carping on at me now! I think Rudi threw us a red herring anyway!

I suppose I am somewhat perch-al to a nice bass!(?!?!?)
I plaice that pretty low on the funny scale. And I thought you were a Dab hand at this? I'll just wait here while Mullet over and try something else!

Post up anything you like! As long as it's not porn. (If it is porn, just send me the link)
Here's the daughter of a mate giving some rather humorous singing lessons!
