I appreciate what he's doing - the music lacks tension, though. Why do acoustic guitarists feel so compelled to use harmonics when almost endless possibilities reside within the regular notes?

That being said, his fluency is refreshing...aside from the squeaking noise he makes on every single chord jump.

I love the subtle legato and pedal steel stuff in this.

As for the percussion parts.....it's cool....but nobody is going to match McKie.

Overall, BEAUTIFUL sound and thoroughly enjoyable to listen to.

Very impressive.

Does anyone know the piece he was playing? Not that I didn't enjoy it, but it seemed to be a kluge of several themes written more to display technical prowess instead of musical expression. Kind of like a whirlwind tour of emotions with inadequate bridging between. In other words, pretty seamy IMO.
