  1. That's pretty cool all the way up to the part when the attack got to percussive and had a piano like sound.
  2. I used to but broke to many high Eeeeeeeeeeeeee's. It also depends on the music these days. Tune down to Eflat and use 10's if you need the bends. On an Acoustic I can't find a light enough gauge of strings for me.
  3. A Nocaster? LOL It sounds great I wish Y'all much sucess. EJB
  4. Quite a few of my faves have alredy been mentioned. A few others of mine are; Ian Gillan David Coverdale Marty Robbins Annie Lennox
  5. Hey Y'all, Yea I don't think you copied the Doors but at times Y'all have that Dark Sound and Feel. I Like it and I'm not a big Doors fan. The Guitar work from both Guitarist is really clever and well fresh. I wanted to ask are the Teles you guys play Twins? They look Identicle. EJB
  6. How Cool I've seen Super Rev's with 4 10's but not 6. Must be a beast to lug around.
  7. I like IT, A Lot. Not sure why. I just do. EJB kinda has a Doors vibe at times
  8. Do you have any recordings we can near (or did I miss it) if so that would be a good way to get feedback before hitting an audience. Once you do it, I think you'll find out how amazing it is and will never look back. You will wonder what all the fret was about. EJB P S the Beer thing does work (as long as you don't get Sh^# faced and fall off the Stage)
  9. I couldn't have said it better and I totally agree. Dude if your reading that while recording, I am impressed with that alone. I barely read as fast as you Rap. Good Luck in the Contest, EJB
  10. M57 I think what you refer to as close-rhyming is called "soft" rhyming (I think). I personally think there is a very distinct difference between Lyrics and Poetry. I may not be able to eloqently verbalize it but I am not wanting an arguement. Just stating my opinion. I would think that if you set out to write a Lyric and have a mindset of being Poetic it will be much harder. I guess I feel Lyrics should be more a short (very short) story than a Poem. EJB
  11. I really Love this Topic, Just for starters I'll toss in I don't think Lyrics and Poetry are the same maybe Cousins. Poetry has more forms than music has Genres http://www.poetrysoup.com/forms_of_poetry/a You could probably say the same for Lyrics. I personally don't think Poetry in general makes good lyrics, but that is just me. I prefer a more conversational approach. Very few people strool about speakin in rhymes or chatting in Poetic Verse. There are other things to consider as well like, not using Cliches' (I have a different opinion on this). There is so much I want to say (and Learn) on this subject, but I'll leave it at this for now. Oh Yea I almost forgot. What about Lyrics vs: Poetry in other Languages?
  12. Nope it isn't an actual chord, it is three of them arpeggiated (I think) Amin F G. Amin accending F and G decending then the notes C B C A Actually I have never played the song I am kinda guessing.
  13. I use arpeggios sometimes, but I use arpeggiation often.
  14. You can download a full version to try for 60 days and if you decide to buy it's $60 (if you make less than $22,000.00 with your Music). http://www.reaper.fm/ It has more free Plug Ins than You could Imagine and has a very small footprint. It doesn't come with any Vsti but most people use their own anyway. The only thing I don't like is the Editing features but I am going to fgure out hoe ti use it with Samplitude Pro X (which I Love) Just thought I'd pass this along. EJB
  15. Yes Steve, I agree. I just got a version of Reaper (on a trial basis) and it uses LAME to create mp3's. I do think they sound better (and louder). Reaper is also very cool sonically. IMO. It will just take a little getting used to.
  16. Sorry to hear that. It sucks when things like that happen I hope things will work out for ya. I have an old Ibanez Artist I got in the late 70's. I don't play it though. I mostly have Kramer (all Strats) Love EM, Washburn (awesome Guitars CHEAP) and Gibson/Epiphone (Explorer & LP's) What can I say? Oh yea and a Jackson/Charvel I think C4 One of the best Guitars I own cost me $80. It's a Chinese Copy of a Telecaster by Trinity River. It Plays and sounds Unreal Good but weighs about 11 lbs. You can't go wrong with Ibanez though. A lot of major players use em. The newer ones have that new Tremlo deal (I would like to see how they stand up). Good Luck to Ya, EJB
  17. I just officially became a Garge Sale attendee
  18. True, I read that you can use it for reamping (if you are so inclined) and it has a 4GB SD card. My main thing would be using it for is when I am wrighting, a lot of the time I do it on an electric unplugged and when something hits me (usually in the middle of the night or just before I go to bed) and I want to record it I have to go to my laptop turn it on (wait for boot-up) then turn on my POD X3 then go into the DAW set up a new song bla bla bla... This way I would just play it into there and export when convenient. I saw a forum about it and the uses looked quite extensive. EJB
  19. WOW you lucky dawg. I am not a gear historian but in that era I woud imagine Vox and Fender were the Big Two. In the U K i am pretty sure it would be Vox in the U S probably Fender. See if you can find any Artist that played them back in the day. Mayhaps Chet Atkins? Merle Travis? What model did George Harrison play? WTG EJB Just checed it out Gretch stills sells signiture models Chet Atkins, Brian Setzer and Eddie Cochran.
  20. Should think about getting. Before I post the link I want to preface by saying I have no affiliation with this product or Company (unfortunately). If you are like me this would be a Song/Life Saver. http://www2.gibson.com/News-Lifestyle/Features/en-us/The-Gibson-Memory-Cable-is-Inspiration-Insurance.aspx?utm_source=iContact&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=Gibson%20Guitar%20Corp.&utm_content=Editorial+eBlast+-+May+6%2C+2014 Hmm i hope this link works. If not the procuct is the Gibson Memory Cable. by Gibson and Tascam. I am going to get one I'll review it for those who may be fencers. EJB P S I hope this is the right place for this topic.
  21. I have and use Samplitude Music Studio 2013 and Samplitude Pro X and I think I know your problem. Make sure the bpm in Samplitude is the same as the bpm used in the existing midi tracks, otherwise any new instrument you use will follow the bpm that Samplitude is set at. A way to tell if they are the same is use a click track to see if it is sync with your existing song. I have to watch that my self because it can be hard to fix. The bpm Samplitude is set at is shown on the transport control and can set there or can be fine tuned using Project Properties/Project Status/General Once you change it it will ask if you want to change all midi and audio tracks to the new bpm (No you do not) you only want it to effect the new one i.e. your drums. If your drum part is a wav file you can use the object editor to change the tempo as well. I hope that helps EJB
  22. I get that EXACT same sound when I am (not on purpose) using my laptops built in Mic. I don't know how audacity works BUT I imagine you have to make sure it is getting input from the Mic you are using and NOT from the computers built in Mic. I would bet thats your problem. I hope this will fix your problem. EJB
  23. Cool, Thank You I was wondering why they sounded so odd on there. I guess I should read more carefully.
  24. Stairway To Heaven, Another Girl by the Beatles and 80% of all Country Songs
  25. It Looks like Guitar from a Cartoon. i don't remember which one.
