the notes in a scale are lets say set at the pitch they are through people agreeing thats what they would be set at they could quiet as easly decide to have them a semitone less or higher or just any micro different so having perfect pitch is just about being born with the same mind set as the tones that are used what music is really about is hearing the intervals between notes and making music out of them Az09

lessons or not having lessons is one question i would say if you learn things your self theres a fair chance you will learn some thing that no one else knows in a sence you become arule maker and a rule breaker the way i look at it go with your tallent -

your range in that song is small sounds like you stay on one note a long time i would think you havent used more than two or three notes a tone a part i havent worked it out on my guitar but it sounds like that

Melody Follows Chord Progression Too Much?

i find if i hear a good melody in my head it will always sound even better when i work out the chords that go with it -
i think music theory is a great thing to learn i have tried playing scales i must admit they mean nothing to me the way i look at it scales are notes music is notes but scales are not music i have tried taking chords in a key play around with them to make a song with no success yes the chords work together but being a left handed person with a chord directory in my head i can work out a chord progression out in my head that works and hear the three inversion of a chord as seperate sounding chords something that i dont think music theory covers

sounds like the action of your strings is to high your guitar is basicaly unplayable get some one with expereance to check it out

the song reminds me of a song that a band called limp bizket excuse the spelling i listened to it twice probably would listen to it more to totally analize it the guitar sounded a bit like a aboriginal chant witha slight mix of what bonjovi do with the guitar vocal thing that they use not sure what its called peter fratin used to use one as well the tin sounding drum might have been better used less the theme of the song neaded expanded possibly trying to use empty beats

i usually get the lyrics melody and chords at the same time

to me scales never learned me nothing about music when i compose a melody i can always hear the chords that go with it but until i find the right inversion to play the other inversions sound wrong i suspect most songs will be in more than one key some being major some being minor and some parts being ambigious to being major or minor

i find there are times that my playing can go flat when i compose a song in my head its a real buzz i only ever want to play a song once and move on to the next so having to play a song more than once to get it right can dull the performance

when i compose a melody i can hear the chords in my head my bigest trouble is until i play the exact inversion of the chord i hear the other inversions sound wrong i also find my music relies heavily on minor chords and more so on minor 7 -
IM A LEFT HANDED PERSON I THINK THIS IS THE REASON I CAN COMPOSE IT FOR ME IS SOMETHING I DONT CONTROL I JUST HAVE MUSICAL THOUGHTS AND I JUST HAVE TO LISTEN TO THEM IT USUALLY COMES TO ME AS AW HOLE MELODY CHORDS AND LYRICS THE ONLY THING I DONT HAVE IS A NEAD FOR WORKING OUT TIMEING ITS ALL PRECONCIEVED MELLODYS WHICH I GET A MUSIC TEACHER TO WORCK OUT FOR ME
