    hi john still trying to get a guitarist and singer on board from this sight if none come up i intend to source a guitarist that has a recording studio locally and get him to join songstuff as you said we can do the challenge is to write a hit song but we do want to have a good singer to show case the song this is a brillant chance for a singer on this sight to come forward some one with a opera type voice soprano would be ideal i have in mind composing a gothic rock song with a classical theme how are you getting on with finding another team it would be nice to have more than one team for some friendly competition but we are focused to get started

    i have been writing songs 35 years and this last couple of years that i have been getting my songs sung by singers i am having the same trouble getting the melodies sung or played with a musical instrument so that the singer has a good enough rendition to copy Az09

    hi john i wasnt sure should i have put a lone as one word or two i think one word is better for got ton i think i should have put it as one i didnt spell it the proper way ie as forgotten i like to write my lyrics spelt the way i want them to sound rather than follow proper english because i think lyrics carry more information i didnt put the word the because i was doing a complicated thing with the listener i was having two conversations at once i was talking about blues music and being blue which fead my blues guitar playing which would be the guitar solo as the music hook the lyric hook of the song i tried to keep ambiguous i did hint at it in the title ie last taste of summer and did play around with it ie your love was my last taste of summer summer was my last taste of loving you when i talk about ie bring me back the summer what i am saying is im not interested in getting summer back at all its just saying i want the women back it just happened to be a summer romance a bit like 10cc song im not in love thanks for criticing the song

    the notes in a scale are lets say set at the pitch they are through people agreeing thats what they would be set at they could quiet as easly decide to have them a semitone less or higher or just any micro different so having perfect pitch is just about being born with the same mind set as the tones that are used what music is really about is hearing the intervals between notes and making music out of them Az09

    lessons or not having lessons is one question i would say if you learn things your self theres a fair chance you will learn some thing that no one else knows in a sence you become arule maker and a rule breaker the way i look at it go with your tallent

    if you have good songs local radio stations would give them some air play try some local bands to play them if your lucky seek out artists that play songs in the same styles and if that dont work you could always sell your soul to the devil

    your range in that song is small sounds like you stay on one note a long time i would think you havent used more than two or three notes a tone a part i havent worked it out on my guitar but it sounds like that

    i must admit there is a lot of songs out there that i really like but i have never wished i had written them to me that would not make sense

    i find if i hear a good melody in my head it will always sound even better when i work out the chords that go with it

    i think music theory is a great thing to learn i have tried playing scales i must admit they mean nothing to me the way i look at it scales are notes music is notes but scales are not music i have tried taking chords in a key play around with them to make a song with no success yes the chords work together but being a left handed person with a chord directory in my head i can work out a chord progression out in my head that works and hear the three inversion of a chord as seperate sounding chords something that i dont think music theory covers
